The Forest Edge by Ness Ayton

This first appeared in "The Alternative Robin of Sherwood Zine".

On one side stretch the fields, my son,

On the other stretch the trees,

And in between a roadway runs

Across a place of dreams.

Across a place where dreams, my son,

Were either lost or made,

Where outlaws lived and fought and died,

Our heritage to save.
