Tied Up Too Tight

Characters: Kevin Walker, Justin Walker.

Synopsis: A late night at the office turns into an ordeal when Kevin finds himself faced with some disgruntled clients of Carter’s. Justin’s brief visit also puts him in danger.

Spoilers: Between Glass Houses and Book Burning.

It was a late night. At the office, Kevin moaned and not in a good sense. His tie had been taken off him ages ago and was currently being used to silence him. He breathed heavily as best he could while his captors were going through his office computer. Carter had seemingly infuriated a former client. The men who had broken into the office at gunpoint were masked but Kevin could tell they were disgruntled clients. Carter had stepped on more than a few people in recent months.

“You won’t get away with this -,” Justin’s voice stopped quickly as a scarf was used to gag him. He laid on the floor while Kevin was bound and gagged to his chair. Both brothers grunted and looked at each other helplessly.

“Damn it,” one of the masked men hissed as he pointed to Kevin in contempt. “Friggin thing’s got a password. Ungag that son of a bitch over there.”

Kevin grimaced as the second man went over and removed the tie from his mouth roughly. Justin also looked wary but a stern look from the first guy kept him from trying anything stupid.

“Spill,” the second guy said commandingly, getting into Kevin’s face. “What’s the password?”

“I,” Kevin began, stammering a little before being slapped hard. Justin muffled something loud and angry and got a kick in the stomach for his troubles. He whimpered in pain.

“Next time it will be worse,” the guy said sternly. Kevin imagined he wasn’t lying about that and gave Justin a look to calm down, which the latter did grudgingly.

“Walker,” Kevin mumbled reluctantly. He knew he was potentially sabotaging his firm but better that than him and Justin ending being killed. Though that also remained a lingering possibility.

“After yourself?” the first guy smiled admiringly. “How quaint.”

Both Kevin and Justin watched as the first guy took a USB key and loaded all potentially damaging files into it, before taking their leave of the office.

“Pleasure doing business with the both of you,” the first guy smiled. “Oh and Mr Walker, if I ever need a good lawyer, your firm might not be on the shortlist.”

With that, the office was locked again and both Kevin and Justin muffled and struggled in their restraints before finally freeing themselves. Kevin undid the gag on Justin’s mouth, it drooping down. Both looked at each other, glad to be alive. Justin looked a little sore, clutching his stomach a little.

“What do we do?” Justin said, rubbing his wrists, sore from their restraints.

“Call the police,” Kevin said as he began dialling. “No way are these two getting away with anything.”
