Phoebe entered the club 15 minutes later to see Piper busy bossing everyone around.
“No Jason, not there, it’s supposed to go next to the stage. You know where it’s always been.” Piper barked, sighing when Jason quickly did what he was told.
Phoebe walked up to her sister, a frown on her face.
“Piper honey.” She started, gently grabbing Piper by the arms and walking over to the bar. “What’s going on?” the both of them sat down, Phoebe waiting for Piper to start explaining.
“I don’t know… I’ve just been… really busy lately and I haven’t gotten a good night’s sleep. The club has never seen so many people and I don’t think that I can handle it.” Piper sighed.
Phoebe took her hands and looked into her big sisters tired eyes. Smiling slightly at her, she knew that she had to interfere.
“Listen sweetie, I know that everything is different. With Leo gone and with us being busy and especially with the boys… I know that you have a busy life, but you do know that you can call Paige and me any time right?” Piper nodded, before her attention was brought to a crash close to the stage.
Before she had time to react though, Phoebe had already walked over to Jason.
“Jason, are you okay?” she asked, seeing him get up quickly.
Noticing that it was Phoebe, he instantly relaxed. “Yeah, I’m really sorry. I should’ve watched where I put it.” He answered, rubbing the back of his head.
“It’s okay, just fix it. And be careful next time.” She warned him smiling. He nodded and watched as Phoebe walked back towards her sister who was ready to jump up at any moment and do it herself.
“Everything is under control, don’t worry sweetie.” Phoebe told her, sitting back down. “Now, speaking of the boys, where are they anyway? With Paige being gone and with me being here.” Piper waved her hand in the air, cutting her younger sister off.
“They’re at dads. He wanted them for the weekend and I figured that I could use that time to get everything under control.” She explained, looking around for anything that could go wrong.
Phoebe sighed, wondering what to do with her. Her unasked question was cut short however when she saw her younger sister rush over to them, a cut on her head and Billie next to her, who had a busted lip.
Phoebe’s heart started to beat faster when she saw Billie and the only thing she wanted to do was to run to her side and take care of her. Paige however, had beaten her to it and already stood in front of them, Billie next to her.
“Guys, we have a problem.” She stated, looking between the both of them. Piper and Phoebe shared a worried look, not liking any of this.
Standing up, Piper took her keys and handbag. “I’ll be back later, I need to take care of something!” she screamed to her staff. They mumbled something in response, probably glad that she would be gone for a while.
Turning back towards her sisters and Billie, she quickly took the lead.
“All right, Paige, why don’t you orb Billie back to the manor and get the both of you freshened up. Phoebe and I will drive back and we will meet you at home. Got it?” when the three of them nodded, she started on her way out.
Phoebe didn’t take any chances and walked next to Billie.
“You all right?” she asked, worry evident in her voice. Seeing Billie hurt like this made something inside of her feel guilty. She shouldn’t have left Billie on her own back there, but she looked like she needed to sort things out, so she left her with her thoughts. Thinking about it now, she wished she wouldn’t have. She could’ve prevented all of this.
While Billie wanted to just say yes and get away from her as soon as possible, she couldn’t help but feel special that Phoebe cared so much about her. Smiling a little at the brunette she nodded.
Phoebe, happy that she was okay, smiled back. But she didn’t get the chance to say anything else, seeing as they were outside already and Paige and Billie headed into the nearest ally to orb. Sighing, Phoebe watched them round the corner and walked to her car, only thinking about Billie, feeling a little less guilty.
Half an hour later everyone was up in the attic. Paige had informed everyone of the attack on Billie a short while ago. Right now, they were up in the attic and ready to do some research.
“Do you remember what the demon looked like?” Piper asked Billie, taking charge yet again, ready to start looking up the demon once she had answered.
Phoebe looked over at the blonde, who had a thoughtful look in her eyes. Only now did she notice that Billie cocked her head to the right and puckered her lips when she thought about something. Smiling, she found it rather cute and once again found herself swooning over her. She sighed softly, thinking back to that afternoon. How she held her while they were watching the movie and even how she almost kissed her.
When she thought back to that particular moment she almost cussed at herself right then and there. Shaking her head, Phoebe looked back up at Billie, this time scanning over her body. Memorizing every single curve, how confident she always stood and even her cockiness, she started falling even more in love with her. Looking back up at Billie’s face, she saw the blonde licking her lips, probably remembering the demon, but it looked down-right sexy to the brunette, who had to refrain herself from moaning.
Thankfully for her, Billie snapped out of her trance and turned towards Piper, a confident look in her eyes, matching her stance.
“Well, it was pretty dark and he was wearing this black robe thingy with a hood on, but I think I remember what he looked like.” Billie started, waving her arms around, to emphasize what she was saying. Phoebe found it rather amusing and almost forgot that her friend was explaining who had attacked her. “He was tall, around 6 feet I think, but he could’ve looked taller ‘cause I was on the ground and looking up at him and-” Piper snapped her fingers, making Billie stop talking and look at her sheepishly.
“Sorry, anyway… he had this dagger with him, with some sort of symbol on it. It looked like a… uhm moon sort of thing, but I’m not sure. As I said, it was pretty dark. But there wasn’t really anything out of the demon-ordinary.” Billie finished, earning a chuckle from Phoebe.
Billie quickly snuck a glance at the brunette, feeling butterflies fill her stomach when she heard her chuckle. Sighing softly, she turned her attention back to Piper, knowing that her little crush wasn’t going to be of any help in this situation. She watched as the older witch flipped through the pages looking for the demon that had attacked her.
To be honest, the blonde had been scared, up to the moment that she had wished that Phoebe had been there to keep her safe. After what had happened at her condo, Billie decided to just stay away from the brunette until she had figured out her feelings. She wasn’t even sure if Phoebe really did like her, or if it was just a heat of the moment thing. Though she did say that she had been thinking about her after this morning.
I need to stop thinking about this! It’s only giving me a headache and making me even more confused than I already am.
She got snapped out of her thoughts when she heard Piper scream.
“I found him!” she motioned Billie to come over to tell her if it was really him. When Billie nodded, Piper turned back to read.
“Hm, that’s weird. He’s only a low level demon that doesn’t even come up to the human world. It says right here that he has to stay down in the Underworld because they’re afraid that he might slip up and tell all about them. Why would take such a risk in attacking Billie, when he knew that he would get vanquished?” Piper’s question was one that couldn’t be answered by any of the occupants in the room.
“That doesn’t make any sense, you’re right about that. And who is that them that the Book keeps talking about?” Phoebe interjected, walking over to her older sister to read the entry about the demon herself.
“Maybe they have really funny or bad names and they’re embarrassed if people found out about them.” Paige joked, causing both Phoebe and Billie to let out a laugh and Piper to give her baby sister a tired look, but nonetheless she smiled.
That simple sentence lifted the seriousness in the room, making the four occupants more at ease. Paige smiled at her older sister. She knew that she was tired so she tried to lift the mood a little. Thankfully for her, Piper appreciated it.
“Let’s get to work people. Try to find out what their names are, who they are and what they want… oh and if you see any funny or embarrassing names, make sure to write them down.” Piper winked at her youngest sister, who in her turn smiled and did some sort of bow.
Piper laughed and shook her head, continuing to flip through the Book.
“Maybe I can find something at Magic School.” Billie proposed, getting everyone’s attention.
She looked around at everyone’s faces, watching the different emotions displayed on them. Phoebe looked worried, that was nothing knew she had come to known. Paige was slowly nodding and even Piper looked thoughtful. Before Phoebe had a chance to open her mouth to protest, Paige beat her to it.
“You know, that isn’t such a bad idea.” Paige started, only to get interrupted by Phoebe who was looking at her sister unbelievingly. “What! Paige, it is a bad idea. Have you been living under a rock the past year, ‘cause last time I checked Magic School was taken over by demons!” she nearly shouted, making Billie flinch at her tone.
“Phoebe,” Piper’s voice was calm as she looked her sister direct in the eyes. “It’s not a bad idea, Paige is right. And so are you-” she continued when Phoebe wanted to interrupt once again. “but, Magic School has a lot of information on almost every demon out there, so it’s going to be our best and maybe even only shot at the moment. If we find any information, we can take matters into our own hands.” Phoebe crossed her arms and pouted, looking like a little child that didn’t get the toy she wanted.
“I still think it’s too dangerous.” She muttered.
“That’s why you’re going with her.” Piper said matter-of-factly.
Suddenly the idea didn’t seem so bad anymore when Piper said that. She even started to look forward to it. It wasn’t exactly the same as a date, but in Phoebe’s book, it came close to being one. And she could apologize for leaving her alone before.
Billie meanwhile wished she had never voiced her idea at all. Glancing over at the brunette, she noticed that a smile was slowly making its way across her lips. It caused butterflies to fill her stomach, but at the same time she got very nervous.
This isn’t what I had in mind when I wanted to stay away from her for now. I haven’t really thought about everything that happened today and I didn’t even have the time to sort through my emotions. God, this is going to be Hell. Unless…
“Isn’t it better if Paige would come with me?” Billie asked, causing Phoebe’s smile to fall off her face in less than a second and a frown to replace it. At times like these, she wished that she had her empathy powers back. Yes, she had her others powers back already, but it seemed as if her empathy powers were taking a lot longer to come back to her. She snapped out of her thoughts when Billie continued her argument. “What if something happens… Paige could orb me out at any moment.”
Looking at Piper, the two of them saw that she was in deep thought. Even though it was only seconds before Piper made up her mind, it seemed like hours for the two women.
“No, Phoebe’s going with you. I need Paige for other things. Besides, Phoebe can easily talk or fight herself out of situations if something goes wrong. And the two of you are going to have your own potion, so you can both get out without being dependent on one another.” Billie knew that when Piper used a tone like that, there was no arguing over it. Sighing, she shrugged and gave up, avoiding eye contact with Phoebe. She just had to try and avoid talking about today.
That was frustrating Phoebe to no end. She wanted to know what was going on inside that head of hers. If she could at least see her eyes, she would be able to find out a little of what Billie was feeling. I’ll just ask her when we get to Magic School. She decided, before grabbing some potions and walking over to Billie. Handing her a couple of potions, she said bye to her sisters and threw one on the ground, engulfing them in white smoke.
End of part 3. Next chapter will have action in it, don’t worry! Plus a little something else.
