C.L.: Hey guys. I definitely like to thank those that reviewed. I feel better now. So here's the next chapter!

Syaoran Li could not believe what he had just heard. He had just saved her life and this is how she repays him. “Not even a thank you? You could have died you know that?” Syaoran tried to hide the frustration in his voice.

The woman just looked at him with an annoyed expression on her face. “I wouldn’t have died,” she simply said.

Syaoran was livid. “How can you say that? Were you trying to kill yourself or something? Because you would have died if that car ran into you. It was going at least 75, it was bound to run into you and you would have either flown or would have been—“, Syaoran was cut off.

“Okay, okay, thank you are you happy now?” she asked disdainfully.

“Ecstatic,” Syaoran replied with sarcasm. They both realized that they were still on the ground. Syaoran helped the girl up. Then the thunder rolled and rain started to pour.

“Why does this have to happen to me!” the woman shrieked.

“Lady, calm down,” Syaoran told her.

“I will not calm down. If you knew what was best for you you’d stay away from me,” she warned him.

“Well too bad. If you’re about to say some lame excuse to make me leave, it’s not going to work,” he retorted.

“Why do you always have to be like that Syaoran? Why do you always have to be so freaking macho and insist on protecting me?” the woman asked, desperation fueled her words.

“Hey listen here lady. You were almost hit by a car and now you’re soaking wet— wait— how do you know my name?”

“That’s not important.”

“Uh, yeah it is. Listen here, I’ve never met you before in my life. So tell me how do you know my name,” Syaoran demanded.

“You’ve known me all your life! In the past and the present life!” she practically screamed the answer. Luckily they were on a little business street. There was no one to wake up with the little quarrel.

“Past life… what the hell are you talking about?”

“It’s— never mind,” the woman started to run away again.

Syaoran caught her. “Tell me what’s wrong. Why do I have this feeling that I know you? Why do you seem different?”

“No.” It was short and to the point.

“Why not?” Syaoran sounded like a little child denied from staying up late watching television. He didn’t care. This woman had intrigued him.

“Because I don’t want it to happen again. I don’t want anyone to get hurt again. I don’t want you to get hurt again,” the woman started crying. Whatever wounds she had were reopened.

“I won’t get hurt. I promise you that,” Syaoran did not know where that came from, but in his heart, he knew it was the right thing to say. It calmed the woman down who was sobbing into his shirt. They stood there in the rain, his arms around her waist, and her head on his shoulder. The world seemed right.

When everything had somewhat calmed down, Syaoran asked,” Could you at least tell me your name?”

The woman giggled. “Which one?” she asked.

“So there is more than one?”

“You’d be surprised.”

“The real one,” he inquired.

“Sakura Kinomoto,” she answered. Her name sounded foreign to her after years not using or hearing it.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you Miss Kinomoto,” Syaoran said.

“Please call me Sakura,” she insisted.

“Ok then Sakura, do you trust me?” he asked.

“Why?”

“Because it’s raining and the both of us are bound to get sick. So I propose that we go over to my place. Don’t worry I won’t do anything to you,” he reassured her her.

“Besides, you owe me an explanation,” he added.

“Fine,” Sakura sighed in defeat.

Their walk to Syaoran’s apartment had been quite pleasant actually. Despite Sakura’s nervous heart, she still went with him, the one who she was avoiding in the first place. I hope you’re happy Hiiragizawa. Your plan is finally set in motion, Sakura thought. She shook her head. Life just knows how to bite you in the ass.

C.L.: Ooh. This chapter is over already? I'm gonna try to write longer. I thought it would be easy, but I was wrong. Anyway please review :D Gracias!
