Yume Kinimoto became an orphan as a baby. She was born before the year Cell’s attacks on December 6th. (Which means she is a year younger than Trunks) When she was 6 ½ months old, her parents gave her to a close friend to watch while they went to try and stop Cell. However, they never came back for their little girl. They became victims of Cell’s hunger.

Not wanting the child, the friend gave her to an adoption agency. There is where she stayed for 5 ½ years even though her parents were revived along with all of Cell’s other victims. This is the period of her life that toughened her up. It was at this age, 6, that she began to use her powers.

Causing a wreck at the orphanage, they called a dojo and talked with the head master about her. Hearing this, he gladly adopted her, raised, and trained her as if she were his own child. His name is Master Tai and even though she knows he isn’t her real father, Yume still considers him to be her father and loves him.
