Viola glanced out the passenger seat window. She watched the lit streetlights fly by as the car sped down the dark highway. In the driver's seat sat Furio Tigre. He seemed to have no regard for the speed limit; however, he seemed to have his eyes completely focused on the road for any obstacles. Viola turned her head to notice this and found it slightly cute. Whenever he seemed to show a weakness she found it cute. This had appeared in many instances throughout the few weeks that they had been dating.

Viola smiled. She didn't show her feelings often to people. Furio was one of the few privileged people that she opened up to. She enjoyed that. She thought that it was great to have someone to confide in, and despite his intimidating demeanor, he always lent his ear to her. It was just one of the reasons she loved him.

Too bad he doesn't love you.

Viola looked up, surprised. She thought she had heard a feminine voice, but there was no possible way that could be. The only other person in the car was Furio, who had a very masculine voice. Tigre turned his head in curiosity at Viola's odd actions. Viola ignored the voice and went back to staring out the window at the streetlights.

He's only acting. He never loved you.

Viola heard the voice a second time. She now grew a bit paranoid. She remained intently focused on the passing streetlights.

You're a fool if you think otherwise.

Viola tried her best to ignore the voice.

He's only putting up this charade because of your grandfather.

Viola massaged her temple with her hand. She rested her head on her arm. The voice continued to persist. Before she knew it, they had arrived at Viola's house.

"Do youse want me to walk youse to da door?" Furio asked.

Viola barley noticed him speaking. She quickly said "N-no thank you." before rushing to her door. She slammed the door behind her, the voices still echoing in her head.

He never loved you.

"No, he does. He does." Viola said back at the voice.

If it wasn't for your grandfather, he wouldn't even bother with you.

"You're wrong." Viola said, her voice showing signs of strain.

Admit it; he would never love a freak like you.

"You're wrong. You're wrong" Viola retorted, her voice rising.

No one could ever love a freak like you.

"Shut up. SHUT UP!" Viola screamed. She had fallen to the floor. She sat in the fetal position clutching her head. Tears streamed down her face.

He is only with you to save his own hide. That's the truth.

Viola could do nothing to silence the voice. She did the only thing she could. She ran to her room and cried into her pillow. She ignored the voices the best she could. She continued to cry until she finally fell asleep.
