A thick wave of madness struck them both, and down they spiraled until there was nowhere left to go. Neither one of them retaliated, not even when they crashed against the soil below them. They trembled, then relaxed, then opened their eyes, and despite the darkness, they saw each other’s faces, bright like moonlight.

Fingers interlaced, and suddenly, the beating of their hearts exploded into the gloom, reverberating against nonexistent walls. Black flames lapped against their skins playfully, smiling all the while. Crooked, tender smiles adorned their lips, lips that touched each other and reveled in the passion they sparked.
