Hey hey, I know I’m still writing Life and all, but I just had an idea so here it goes
Disclaimer: I don’t own Naruto
She was only thirteen, how could some-one so young deal with something this big. She sat at the end of her bed where Kakashi and Tsunade had left her.
Her head bowed, her hands shaking and the hot tears pricking at the backs of her eyes. She didn’t believe it, she couldn’t believe. If she didn’t have her parents, she didn’t have anyone.
The dark was slowly filling the room and the sun was setting. She wondered if they had told her team yet. Had they told Sasuke? She didn’t want them to tell him. Kami, what if they did? Suddenly she felt an overwhelming guilt sweep over her as she realised she was worrying more about her crush than her parents death. She let the tears fall from her eyes and shook slightly. She put her hands over her eyes as she cried.
It only hit her then, how quiet her house was. Her father wasn’t banging around in the kitchen trying to cook and her mother wasn’t yelling at him trying to make him stop burning the rice. She broke down completely, she was sure her neighbours could hear wailing, maybe even Naruto could. She had never cried like this before, it felt she had a huge hole in her chest and it wouldn’t go away. She clutched at her heart with both her hands and tried to make the ache go away. But it wouldn’t. Her life wasn’t almost worth living anymore. Her and Ino had a huge argument so they weren’t talking, Naruto was too busy trying to beat Sasuke and Sasuke didn’t like and never would.
He hated her, she just knew it. At least he would after he found out about Itachi. He’d think she was interfering or something. She was still crying. She opened her eyes to find that the stars had come out outside her window and she wondered if they were looking down on her.
“I think you should go and see her, Sasuke.”
Sasuke looked up and his teacher and looked away. How the hell is he meant to deal with something like this. This is exactly the reason he thought he should leave in the first place.
“No.” He said, she wouldn’t want to see him of all people. He remembers what it was like to have his parents killed, so brutally too. He saw Kakashi give him an almost disgusted look before it returned to placid. He slouched back and took out his orange book as he did in most awkward situations.
“Fine, leave her on her own then.” He said almost stubbornly as he disappeared in a puff of white smoke. Sasuke sat slumped against the tree’s trunk. He clenched his fist at his sides until he felt the moist beneath his fingertips. He grit his teeth as he thought about the happenings. How could his brother do it? What did she have to do with anything? Was I planned? Or was he just being cruel for no reason?
“Aaaargh” He clutched at his head and screwed his eyes shut. He suddenly had a flashback of finding his parents dead and bloody. That was it, he opened his eyes quickly and swiftly got up and ran off.
He sat on a tree branch outside her open bedroom window. He could see her sitting on her bed crying, he didn’t know what to do. Did he go in? Did he knock on her window?
No, because then she’d know he’d been watching her. Suddenly, his eyes were drawn back to her as he saw something glint next to her. He furrowed his brows as she picked up a kunai and seemed to examine it. She pushed her finger on the end of it, until a small trail of blood made its way down her finger. She smiled slightly.
He frowned more so, what was she doing? He watched her walk across her room and pick up the picture of Team Seven. His eyes softened slightly, that is until she smashed it down on her bed side table, breaking the frame and shattering the glass. She sunk down to her bed again crying her heart out. She picked up the kunai and help it at eye level, Sasuke’s eyes widened a little.
She wouldn’t …
She would. She swiftly placed the kunai at the side of her neck and pressed until it punctured the skin. He gasped slightly and flew through her window, he wasn’t even sure if his feet touched the frame or her carpet until he got to her. The look on her face was one of pure shock, he didn’t think she even noticed the blood running down her neck.
He roughly snatched kunai away and through across the other side of the room. He was now sitting next to her on her bed looking at her with his Sharingan activated.
“S-sasuke-kun?” She stammered, looking at him with tear filled eyes. He scowled at her.
“Kami Sakura!” He scolded as he pressed his hand to her pale neck to stem the bleeding. He was pretty sure the wound wasn’t that deep but it was a cut on her neck for kami’s sake. She looked at him sadly for a moment.
“Are you mad with me Sasuke-kun?” She asked quietly, looking at him with watery green eyes. He looked at her and his eyes softened slightly, he couldn’t glare at her now.
“Hn, no. Why would I be.” He said, taking his hand away from her neck and glancing at the amount of her blood on his hand. There was something so wrong about it.
“I-Itachi.” She whispered, her bottom lip quivering as she looked down at her lap. He glared and willed his sharingan to fade. He clenched the blue bed spread he was sitting on and grit his teeth.
“No, it’s not your fault.”
“Sasuke-kun…” She sniffed.
“It’s… okay, Sakura.”
Suddenly he felt Sakura throw herself at him. Her small arms were wrapped around his middle and she was crying into his chest. He gingerly rested his head atop hers and put his arms loosely round her back. He thought back to her smashing the photo frame.
“Y’know Naruto will be worried about you if you come to training crying.” He said quietly. “And Kakashi… suggested you read one of his books… he said it’s relaxing…” He heard her laugh slightly through the tears. She nuzzled a bit more into his chest.
“Sakura.”
“Yeah?” She whispered.
“Don’t do that again” He said sort of firmly but…. Caring. Her eyes fluttered open ans she was filled with warmth for a few moments. She felt him tense slightly as he spoke to her.
“Okay, Sasuke-kun, Okay.”
He relaxed.
She smiled.
