~ Epilogue ~
~ Happily Ever After ~
It turned out that school wasn't the nightmare that Carrie had expected. After getting her things from her house, they arrived at school, Carrie's hand entwining with Tommy's. Sue smiled as they approached her.
"Hi Carrie!" she smiled. "Hey, Tommy."
"Hi Sue," they both smiled.
"Sue, can I talk with you for a minute?" Carrie asked. Sue nodded, casting a quick smile to Tommy as she passed him.
"What is it Carrie?" she asked.
"Sue," Carrie began, feeling very nervous at this point. "Tommy asked me to be his girlfriend," she squeaked, expecting a punch or at least a hateful glance coming her way from Sue. Sue, however, was calm. She smiled gently.
"You look as if I'm about to punch you," she joked. Carrie laughed nervously. Sue noticed.
"I wouldn't do that to you Carrie," she laughed, putting her arm around Carrie's shoulder. Carrie smiled. She knew things were going to get better now. But there was one thing that was still plaguing her nightmares. She had to tell him about her Telekinesis. She was nervous. Maybe, he would think she was a freak? She would be picked on worse that before. She shuddered slightly.
"You ok Carrie?" Tommy asked.
"I'm just a bit cold," she assured him. Tommy smiled. The bell clanged loudly.
"God, I hate school. You thing the teachers would fuck off after the prom," Sue complained laughing.
"Well, we only have a few days left until we graduate," Carrie said cautiously.
"Yeah, thank God for that!" she exclaimed.
"What do you want to be when you're out of school?" she asked Carrie, genuinely interested. "You'd be great at as a fashion designer. That dress you had at he prom was amazing. I heard that you made it. It takes some skill to make a dress like that," she encouraged. Carrie blushed.
"What do you want to be?" Carrie asked.
"I want to be a vet," she said. "I love animals."
"Really? So do I!" Carrie said excitedly.
"We have to get to class." Tommy reminded the girls. They nodded as all three of them left.
When lunchtime came around, Carrie, Tommy and Sue sat in the cafeteria.
"So, how are you Carrie?" Tommy asked.
"Fine," Carrie said quietly.
Norma Watson came over to Carrie.
"Look! It's oul prayin' Carrie!" she taunted. Carrie's rage skyrocketed.
Flex
Her tray of food lifted from her hands. Carrie glared at her as she turned her head sharply to the side. It was only a little movement, but it made the tray turn over, the food falling on her head. Norma ran from the cafeteria in shame.
Tommy looked shocked.
"Carrie, did you do that?" Sue whispered. She had noticed Carrie's movements.
"Yeah!" was all she said. Her heart started pounding. What if they did think she was a freak?
"Cool!" Tommy exclaimed. Carrie's worries were replaced with curiosity.
"Really?!" she asked, shocked.
"Yeah! That was awesome! Can you do other stuff?" Tommy asked.
"You're not freaked out?" Carrie whispered.
"A bit. But it is really cool though," Sue said.
"Can you do other stuff?" Tommy asked.
"Yes," Carrie said as she looked at her spoon.
Flex.
The spoon lifted up a few inches and went back down again.
"That was so cool!" Sue exclaimed.
Carrie smiled.
Carrie and Tommy walked into Ross home.
Sara smiled as they entered the kitchen.
"Hey mom," Tommy smiled.
"Carrie," Sara sighed. "Your mother," she began.
"Yeah?" Carrie and Tommy said simultaneously.
"She's been arrested. The police found a lot of proof of the abuse. They asked neighbours and they told the police what they heard."
Carrie smiled. Finally things were going to get better....
The End...
