Teribane: Welcome to the (hopefully) long awaited Phantom Shots!

Enabiret: Oh great. People, prepare for blathering.

Teribane: Oh, there's not that much...

Anyways, here's the guidelines. Next to the title of each shot, there's going to be either (OS) or (PB). OS means oneshot, or drabble, or part of a story that's only going to be in Phantom Shots, or whatever such thing. PB means plot bunny.

All plot bunnies can be given a request to continue - I will register these, but I don't always promise to continue it. Most plot bunnies can be stolen and continued - I will specifically state if I don't want it stolen.

Okay, the first drabble-shot-thingy is a tribute to Cordria's Pits. ^^ You rock, Cordria!

Enabiret: You might want to read Pits before this to get more sense out of it.

Teribane: Thank you, Veterans Day, for giving me the chance to type despite my technical difficulties at the moment.

Denial (OS)

Two guards lounged near the entrance to one of the corridors of cells, attempting to relax on their break.

One of them was a veteran - he had worked for Walker for a long time, even before the warden had begun to lose contorl over the Pits. If the ghosts had had a real concept of time, he'd have been working here for many long years.

The other ghost was new - attached to the older as something similar to an apprentice, or at least to gain more experiance. He'd had a promising start in Walker's normal prison, and had asked to be promoted here. He'd since regretted it.

A loud scream pierced the moderate silence. The newer guard jumped, then winced and half-heartedly raised a hand to cover his ear. The voice was obviously human, and couldn't have belonged to someone any older than fifteen.

"You get used to it."

A questioning gaze was turned on the older guard, and he sighed, elaborating.

"If you know what's best for you, ignore it. Only way to survive, here."

Even as the anguished wail was fading, the two ghosts were attempting to forget about it. The older was easily succeeding.

This wasn't the first such occurance.

It wouldn't be the last.

Teribane: \sweatdrop\ This was much longer on paper.

Enabiret: \mocking voice\ What, Pits readers, were you expecting Former to be able to save everybody?

Teribane: Oh, be quiet. \pushes Enabiret offscreen\ I promise the next shot thingy will be lonjger, alright? And Hunted is being worked on. The next chapter is done, just no time to type. The one after that is being written.
