The wedding was beautiful, and the reception, was even more so.
The guests talked and laughed, as music played softly in the background. Finally, the couple entered, to thunderous applause. After they sat down, and the food was served, the couple looked at each other, sharing secret smiles.
"Did we do the right thing, Yero?" She asked, linking her arm through his. He met her eyes after taking a bite of his steak. Once he'd swallowed, he said,
"I think so. Do you?" All she could do, was nod, seeing as her mouth was full. After a while, the cake was brought out, and Fiyero and Elphaba went to it. The wine was poured, and they wrapped their arms together, drinking.
"Huckleberry?" She asked, licking her lips. He nodded. "How did you know I like huckleberries?"
He licked his lips after removing his glass.
"I know you. And I know you like berries."
"All berries." She giggled, setting her glass down at the table, before wrapping her arms around his neck. Then, they shared a tender, loving kiss, as the audience 'awwed' in the background.
"Cut the cake!" Glinda cried. They did, and soon, turned to each other, a piece of cake on a fork in each other's hands.
"Ready when you are, Fae." Smiling, they fed each other, to applause. Once done, they wrapped their arms around each other, sharing loving, tender kisses. Then, they both reached for their glasses, sipping their wine.
"I love you." He whispered, gently trailing kisses down her neck.
"I love you."
"I think it's time for the dancing!" Glinda cried, bouncing on the balls of her feet. Fiyero set his glass down, as Elphaba took one more sip from hers. Then, he took her hand, and led her to the dance floor. As they began a slowly, beautiful Vinkun waltz, Elphaba found her head start to spin.
Must be the wine. She thought, as he spun her out and back into his arms. Her back pressed against his chest, their arms around each other, she looked up at him, and soon, her eyes closed instinctively, as he rested his lips gently against her forehead.
When the dance ended, Fiyero gently scooped her into his arms.
She wrapped her arms gently around his neck, squealing as he carried her off the dance floor. Glinda's eyes widened in shock. Elphaba never squealed. Never.
"Elphie, did you just--"
Her friend looked at her as they passed. She giggled, before meeting her husband's lips. Once they were off the dance floor, Fiyero gently set her down, and wrapped her in his arms. Elphaba grabbed her glass of wine, and took a sip, before tilting her head up, a smile on her face. From the look on her face, Fiyero was pretty sure she was drunk on both happiness and alcohol. She leaned into his body, licking her lips. Softly, she whispered,
"I love you."
He smiled at her, loving how happy she looked.
"I love you too."
She giggled again, and sipped her wine again, before offering him a sip. To appease her, he took a sip, before gently meeting her lips in the middle.
