Alone and Abandoned

Someone somewhere

Answer me please

Tell me why

I let you do this to me

I take a step forward

You take a bigger step back

Each day of this life

There grows a larger gap

And as that gap grows

My back gets closer to the wall

My feet get closer to the edge

My spirit begins to fall

Before long I'll be unseen

Lost inside the black

All that haven't will abandon me

Then you will close the gap

I'll spend all my days in solitude

My body as well as my soul

I will be forever empty

Nevermore will I be whole

Perhaps I'll learn to live

If it can be called that anymore

With slowly fading away

Like water withering away the shore

Continue to hurt me

I'm used to it as of late

As strange as it may seem

I've learned to accept my fate

A/N: I hope that you liked my poem! I think it describes Mrs. Lovett's feeling of her relationship… or lack there of, with Sweeney Todd. Thanks for reading! =)
