Perfect

Rory nudged Logan awake as they sat waiting in their seats.

"C'mon babe! I know you have no interest in plays but this isn't just a play! This is a Broadway musical! It's Next to Normal! There's singing and dancing!" she said to him.

"Ace. You know I love you, but I'm not sure how many more shows I can handle."

"Logan! This isn't just a show! It's a way of life for some people! Not me, but some people. I know girls who have been to every musical imaginable. And they all say that this one was fantastic and they even know guys, with testosterone, who liked it. So there," Rory ranted at her boyfriend.

"Fine! Fine! I'll sit quietly through the show and try to appreciate the story, singing, and dancing," Logan gave in.

"Good. Now shush! It's starting."

Later that evening, after the show had let out, Rory and Logan slipped back into the limo that was returning them to their hotel.

"Hey Frank," Logan sighed, "could you slip this CD into the stereo? Despite the fact that we JUST saw the show, Ace, here, feels the need to listen to the music again."

"Sure thing Mr. Logan. I'll put it in right away," Frank replied.

"Thanks, Frank!" Rory slipped into the limo. "Now Logan, what'd I tell you? How fantastic was that musical!"

"Yeah yeah. It wasn't too painful. But don't tell anyone I said that! It might 'damage my rep'," Logan smirked as he answered her question.

Rory laughed and the two sat quietly, listening to the soundtrack of the show they had just exited. As one of the songs from the end of the show came on, Logan pulled Rory closer to him.

"You know," he said, "the one stanza of this song made perfect sense to me."

"How so? I mean I like it but it doesn't really click with me emotionally." Rory questioned.

"Well, just listen. I think you'll understand."

As the car went quiet once more, lyrics could be heard wafting through the space.

Perfect for you

I will be perfect for you

So you could go crazy

Or I could go crazy, it's true

Sometimes life isn't sane

But crazy I know I can do

Cause crazy is perfect

And fucked up is perfect

So I will be perfect

Perfect for you.

Rory sighed as she looked at her boyfriend listening intently to the song. "Yeah, I see what you mean," she said.

"Hey Rory?" Logan asked.

"Yeah?"

"You know I love you right? That I think we're perfect for each other?"

"Oh Logan, I know. And I love you too. And we're made for each other," Rory smiled as she reassured him.

"Good," he said. "I just feel like I don't say it enough. Its always true. No matter what," he stated.

Rory had no idea how to properly respond to this so she did the first thing she could think of. She kissed him. And the moment their lips touched in the back of that limo in New York City traffic, she knew that was all he needed. To know that no matter what, she was there and she loved him with all her heart.
