Zim scratched his chin as he sat on a rooftop amidst his town. In their enslaved daze, many of the Irkens were following the age old, tattered human tradition of Christmas. Even though Santa was still evil, even though Irkens were obviously the superior race, the holiday remained sacred to the filthy meat bags.
"Urg, this holiday is so pointless. Why the Zornaks insisted on keeping it, Zim will never know." As the ruby-eyed spoke to himself, and as the chilled wind ruffled his red and white furred coat, he missed the creak of the roof panel opening, and the all but obvious crunch of footsteps as someone treaded closer to him.
Finally, as overly heated breath fogged over Zim's head, the Irken realized just who had snuck up on him.
With barely a flinch, Zim smiled softly, unseen. "Good evening Dib-worm,"
"Hey Zim," Dib spoke as kindly as ever, crouching next to the Irken, narrowly avoiding the snow Zim so boldly relaxed on. "Aren't you cold?" Zim shrugged, keeping his eyes focused on the scene below. Dib sighed, his breath misting in front of them. "You never talk much, anymore-"
"Zim, my race ha been enslaved. I was lucky enough to be considered a mute threat. I'm lucky not to be stuck on some foreign planet, imprisoned like Tak. Of course I don't feel like talking much." While his voice was not rude or overly agitated, the fog flooding from his mouth was rapid. Dib pouted, scooting loser to Zim with a loud shiver.
"I know it must suck," Dib rested his chin on his arms. "but at least we're together," An alarm sounded, but Zim and Dib did not flinch. They smiled at each other suddenly, as the distinct crashing of Santa's footsteps of doom reigned over the icy planet.
As some screams were heard, and as a loud thundering roar echoed, Dib's and Zim's lips met in a silent, unashamed way of wishing each other,
"Happy Christmas."
