Disclaimer: This is my first story. I don't own anything. Bella is a witch. Harry and Bella are dating. It's their 4th year. H/B. Hr/OC. R&R.
Chapter 1
My name is Isabella Swan. I woke up early today because I am really excited to go back to Hogwarts, meeting my friends, and my Harry. I am in love with Harry Potter. Harry lost his parents when Voldemort attacked their house making Harry "The Boy Who Lived." Harry is living with his relatives that hate anything to do with magic. Harry and I met on the train in our first year and we became friends during the train ride to Hogwarts. We started dating in our second year.
She heard a knock. She said, "Come in!" It was her mom, Renée Swan, and her dad, Charlie Swan. Her mother is a squib and her dad is a muggle police officer.
"Ready to go Bella?" her mom asked.
"Just give me a second mom, I am almost done packing." She replied packing her trunk. When I was done packing, we left to go to the train station. We were one of the few families there. There I saw my best friends Hermione and Jay snogging each other senseless. Hermione Granger and Jay Patel is Harry and I's best friend. We became best friends when we met on the train in the first year. Jay and Hermione started dating each other at the end of last year. I think they love each other. I could see behind them their parents were smiling and taking to each other.
Jay's dad name is Hrithik Patel, pureblood wizard, and his mother is Priyanka Patel, muggleborn witch. Mr. Patel works is an auror and Mrs. Patel is a head of Misuse of Muggle Artifacts Office. Hermione's dad name is Dan Granger and her mother name is Emma Granger. They are both muggle and they both are dentist.
I hugged my mom and dad goodbye and walk over to where Jay and Hermione are kissing. When they saw me, they both blushed. Jay and Hermione said, "Hi!" at the same time. I chuckled a little. I said, "Hello lovebirds! Are you two done exploring each other's mouth?"
"Bella," Hermione said blushing again. Jay was also blushing.
"I think we should go find a compartment for us," Bella said.
"We will go after Jay and I go say good bye to our parents" Hermione said. Then, they went to their parents. Hermione hugged her mom and dad goodbye. Jay hugged his dad and kissed his mom on the forehead. Then, Jay went over to Hermione and took her hand in his and intertwined their fingers. They along with Bella went inside the train to find a compartment. They found an empty compartment toward the end of train. Jay and Hermione sat one side, with Hermione leaning her head on Jay's shoulder. Bella sat opposite of them.
After a few minutes, students had started coming in the train and filling the compartment. I told Jay and Hermione I was going to go look for Harry. I barely left the compartment, and shall him with his trunk and Hedwig's cage. I quickly ran to him and kissed him passionately. He started to kiss me back. I missed him so much. After five minutes of kissing, we walk to our compartment to find Jay and Hermione snogging each other again. When they shall us, they pulled apart. They said hi to Harry.
They made themselves comfortable with me sitting in Harry's lap and Hermione on Jay's lap. They talked about how there summer was, what they did, and who they think is going to be our next Defense against the Dark Arts professor. Jay and Hermione went to Rome together with Hermione's parents during the summer. Harry had to stay the whole summer at his aunt and uncle house. I couldn't go anywhere because I had my relatives visiting me from America.
I whispered suddenly, "Shh!" pressing my finger to my lips and pointing toward the compartment next to theirs. Harry, Jay, and Hermione listened, and heard a familiar drawling voice drifting in through the open door.
"… Father actually considered sending me to Durmstrang rather than Hogwarts, you know. He knows the headmaster, you see. Well, you know his opinion of Dumbledore – the man's such a Mudblood lover and Durmstrang doesn't admit that sort of riffraff. But mother didn't like the idea of me going to school so far away. Father says Durmstrang takes a far more reasonable line than Hogwarts about the Dark Arts. Durmstrang students actually learn them, not just the defense rubbish we do…"
I got up, tiptoed to the compartment door, and slid it shut, blocking out Malfoy's Voice.
"So he thinks Durmstrang would have suited him, does he?" I said angrily. "I wish he had gone, and then we wouldn't have to put up with him."
"Durmstrang's another wizarding school?" said Harry.
"Yes," Hermione said, "and it's got a horrible reputation. According to An Appraisal of Magical Education in Europe, it puts a lot of emphasis on the Dark Arts." Leave it to Hermione to know the facts.
"I think I've heard of it," said Jay vaguely. "Where is it? What country?"
"Well, nobody know, do they?" said Hermione, raising her eyebrows.
"Why not?" said Harry.
"There's traditionally been a lot of rivalry between all the magic schools. Durmstrang and Beauxbatons like to hide their where abouts so nobody can steal their secrets," said Hermione matter-of- factly.
"Durmstrang's got to be about the same size as Hogwarts. How are they going to hide a great big castle?" said Jay.
"But Hogwarts is hidden," I said. "Every one knows that… well, everyone who's read Hogwarts, a History, anyway." Sometimes I think only Hermione and I are the only one who read Hogwarts, a History.
"Just you two, then," said Jay. "So go on – how would you hide a place like Hogwarts?"
"It's bewitched," I said. "If a Muggle looks at it, all they see is a moldering old ruin with a sign over the entrance saying DANGER, DO NOT ENTER, UNSAFE."
"SO Durmstrang'll just look like a ruin to an outsider too?" Harry asked.
"Maybe," I said, shrugging, "or it might have Muggle repelling charms on it. And to keep foreign wizards from finding it, they'll have made it unplottable."
"Say it again" Harry said.
"Well, you have can enchant a building so it's impossible to plot on a map, can't you?" Hermione said.
"Er… if you say so," said Harry.
"But I think Durmstrang must be somewhere in the far north," I said thoughtfully. "Somewhere very cold, because they've got fur capes as part of their uniforms."
"Ah, think of the possibilities," said Jay. "It would've been so easy to push Malfoy off a glacier and make it look like an accident. Shame his mother likes him."
I looked outside and it was raining heavily as the train move farther north.
The sky was so dark and the windows so humid that the lights were lit by midday. The lunch trolley came clattering along the corridor, and Harry bought a large stack of Cauldron Cakes for them to Share.
Several of their friends looked in on them as the afternoon progressed, including Seamus Finnigan, Dean Thomas, and Neville Longbottom, a round faced, very forgetful boy who had been brought up by his frightening witch of a grandmother.
Seamus was wearing his Ireland badge from the Quidditch World Cup. Some of its magic seemed to be wearing off now, it was squeaking "Troy, Mullet, Morgan!" but in a very weak and exhausted sort of way. After half an hour or so, Hermione and I were growing tired of the endless Quidditch talk, we started reading The Standard Book of Spells, Grade 4, and started trying to learn a Summoning charm.
Then, we saw Draco Malfoy appear in the doorway.
Behind him stood Crabbe and Goyle, his enormous, thuggish cronies, both of whom appeared to have grown at least a foot during the summer. Obviously they had overheard the conversation through the compartment door, which Dean and Seamus had left partly open.
"So are you going to enter Potter?" said Malfoy. "I suppose you will because you never miss a chance to show off, do you?"
"Either explain what you're on about or go away, Malfoy," I said testily, over the top of The Standard Book of Spells, Grade 4 Hermione and I were reading.
Gleeful smile spread across Malfoy's pale face. He said looking at Jay, "Don't tell me you don't know? You've got a father and mother at the ministry and you don't even know? My god, my father told me about it ages ago…heard it from Cornelius Fudge. But then, Father's always associated with the top people at the Ministry…Maybe your father's too junior to know about it, Patel…yes…they probably don't talk about important stuff in front of him…" Laughing Malfoy beckoned to Crabbe and Goyle, and the three of them disappeared.
Jay got to his feet and slammed the sliding compartment door so hard behind them that the glass shattered.
"Jay!" said Hermione reproachfully, and she pulled out her wand, muttered "Reparo!" and the glass shards flew back into a single pane and back into the door. Then, Hermione went to go calm him down, but it didn't work.
"Well…making it look like he knows everything and we don't…." Jay snarled. "Father's always associated with the top people at the Ministry. Dad could've got a promotion any time…he just likes it where he is…"
"Of course he does," I said quietly. "Don't let Malfoy get to you, Ron-"
"Him! Get to me? As if!" said Jay, picking up one of the remaining Cauldron Cakes and wraps it into a pulp.
Jay's bad mood continued for the rest of the journey. He didn't talk much as they changed into their school robes, and was still glowering when the Hogwarts Expressed slowed down at last and finally stopped in the pitch-darkness of Hogsmeade station.
As the trains door open, there was a rumble of thunder over head. Bella and Harry left the train holding hands. Hermione and Jay following shortly, both holding hands too. The rain was now coming down so thick and fast that it was as though buckets of ice-cold were being emptied repeatedly over their heads.
"Hi, Hagrid!" Harry yelled, seeing a gigantic silhouette at the far end of the platform.Bottom of Form
