Prologue:

Sarah meets Bow

Sarah surveyed the line of Horde troopers standing in front of her. She smiled at the Princess of Power. “This should be easy enough. Get in, free the slaves, get out. Let’s turn those robots into scrap metal!”

A strong hand clasped her shoulder, preventing her from revealing herself. “No, Sarah, remember to never reveal yourself until the signal is given. The Horde could stun you even before you take one step.” She-Ra smiled down at Sarah and then signaled to Bow, who was hidden behind some large boulders.

Bow nodded, strung an arrow, and shot it at the nearest horde trooper. It sprinkled with giggleberry pollen. The Horde trooper burst out laughing much to the bewilderment of the other troopers. Sarah watched with amazement as Catra blew him to bits with her blaster. “Rrrow, search and find those rebels!” she screeched.

Sara looked at She-Ra in their hidden spot a few yards away. “Why’d Bow shoot one of Sprocker’s arrows?” The Twigget had shown Bow how to harness the giggleberry pollen for use in the special arrows Bow was famous for using.

She-Ra turned to respond, but…

“SARAH! I may have made Force Captain last year, but I can’t keep covering for you if Hordra finds out you’re still reading the forbidden chronicles!” Sarah jumped as Force Captain Ysabeau yelled in exasperation.

“Ysa, I’m awake. I just wish I could have really been there. I mean, I was REALLY fighting alongside She-Ra herself!” She sighed, pressing the book to her chest.

Ysabeau shook her head sadly. “Really, Sarah. You know any books on She-Ra and the Rebellion are considered contraband. Besides those days are long past. Get with it girl! The Horde rules Etheria. Besides, She-Ra is just a myth anyway.” She smiled faintly at the girl. “Aren’t you due at the Horde Medical Lab? You don’t want those blackouts to occur again do you?”

She shook her head as she walked away. ::Those blackouts should not come back. They were the cause of her amnesia the day the Horde found her.::

Sarah watched her best friend walk out of the room. She walked over to the mirror and sighed. :: Ysabeau’s right. I need to start living in the future, not daydreaming about some long ago legend.:: She sighed. ::I wish She-Ra and the Rebellion were real and would storm the camp and rescue me from this horrible place. Not like I really want to be a Hordeswoman, but Hordra feels that this is where I belong. I just wish I knew where I came from and why I’ve had these blackouts for as long as I can remember. Ysabeau’s so lucky to be descended from Catra, at least she doesn’t sound like a cat all the time.::

Sarah giggled at the last thought. She was glad Ysabeau didn’t sound like her great-grandmother Catra. ::I’m so glad Ysabeau’s my friend.::

A sudden blinding light filled the room. Sarah cried out in surprise and quickly shielded her eyes from the overwhelming light. “What going on?!” she wondered.

As the light faded, she felt that she was no longer alone. Cautiously she opened her eyes to find herself staring into the blue eyes of a red-haired stranger. She gasped and drew her sword, the one with the jewel in it. All she knew about the sword was that it was linked to her mysterious past.

Sarah went into a guard position. “Who are you?” she demanded of the stranger, who was staring at her in bewilderment. He seemed awfully familiar for some reason.

He stared at her in astonishment on looking at the girl more closely. :: It can’t be her!:: He swallowed. “Adora? Is it really you? B-b-but you’ve been missing ever since Shadow Weaver cast that spell to send you to the Valley of the Lost! And what are you doing dressed as a member of the Horde?”

Sarah dropped the sword. She stared at him for a moment. Her eyes rolled up into her head and collapsed into a dead faint. Her last thought was that the stranger had to be Bow from the days of the Great Rebellion.
