A long time ago,

in a galaxy far, far away…

A TIME OF PEACE has settled of the fledgling New Republic as the last vestiges of the once grand army the devious alien, Grand Admiral Thrawn are destroyed. Now a self-appointed Jedi Master, Luke Skywalker brings to the council a request to rebuild the Jedi order and to build a Jedi Academy. After a few hours of debate, Chief of State Mon Mothma grants Luke Skywalker his wish.

Delighted that her brother at last begins his long awaited quest and anxiously awaiting the return of her twins, Jacen and Jaina, Minister of State Leia Organa-Solo embarks on a mission of her own. To bring the notorious, spice mining world, Kessel, in to the New Republic. However, despite her attempts, she is repeatedly rebuffed. Tired of being constantly refused, Leia asks her husband if he will act as a temporary ambassador.

Though not anxious to go back to that his troubles started, Han Solo reluctantly agrees. Setting off with his Wookie partner, Chewbacca, Han Solo heads for Kessel. Once arriving, they are attacked and being outnumbered, crash into the barren oxygen deprived planet. Captured by a bounty hunter Skynynx, Han and Chewbacca are brought to the owner of the mines, a Rybet called Moruth Doole.

Suspicious of their claim to be New Republic ambassadors, Doole, by under the influence of glitterstim, invades Han's mind and is shocked when he discovers that Solo isn't lying. Terrified, that the Republic will come after them, Doole enslaves Solo and Chewbacca, and sends them to work in the dangerous underground minds. There, they meet a youth named Kyp Durron with a mysterious power. Also imprisoned at Kessel, is a rebel named Jaelen Quinn, a friend long forgotten….

Also, Jaelen is a fellow farmboy who grew up friends with Luke and like him, has the Force, but not as powerful. He fought as a rebel with Luke as well and was unfortunately captured at Hoth and sent to Kessel and later befriends Kyp.
