Author's Note: I couldn't help writing a bit after the last episode. I guess the two before it spoiled me, and I was missing the interaction in episode five. So, I took a short break from my much longer fic and did this...

Dominoes

"Are those... dominoes?"

Matt looked up from the pieces that he was shuffling around absently, lost in thought, and nodded. "Yes, dominoes. Is there something wrong, Dr. Zambrano?"

"Did you get them from a bag in the break room?"

"I was given to understand, from Tuck, that the bag in question was intended for goodwill donation," Proctor began, frowning. "I admit, I am not in need of charity, but since the items in question were no longer wanted, I did not think my perusal would be an issue."

"Oh, no," she said, shaking her head. "It's not... I just... After I found my mother's earring in the bag, I was going through it again, and I didn't see them..."

"Do you want them back?" he asked, holding one out to her. "I'm afraid I did give one away during my speech, but otherwise, they're all here."

She laughed. "I heard you did pretty good on that speech."

"Not at first, but I seemed to have rallied. Still, it's not a responsibility that I relish, even though I was successful this time. I did promise to do it again next year. What was I thinking?" he mused aloud, and she laughed again, sitting down across from him. "To think, that could have been your job."

"Please, spare me," she said, taking one of the dominoes and looking at it with a faint smile.

"Would you like to play?"

"Actually, yes."
