Jay Stark turned off the large television that occupied one of the meeting room walls and looked around at his board of directors.
"Well gentlemen, you've seen what New Manhattan News has to say. Any thoughts?"
"I think we should be prepared for angry mobs and bad press.," said an elderly, balding man. Jay smiled at him.
"You're always so negative Jameson. My chief of public relations can handle the press and I doubt there will be any mobs. We're not in the middle ages anymore." There was an undercurrent of murmuring from the rest of the board. Jay looked around.
"What is it?" After a brief silence a middle-aged man with graying hair spoke up.
"Some of us are still unsure as to the wisdom of your appointing Miss Grey as your public relations advisor." Jay looked at him.
"Why? What better way to vouch for our product than to employ them ourselves?"
"Of course the fact that she's an attractive red head had nothing to do with it." said a young-looking man with light brown hair.
"I never said that, Davidson." replied Jay, giving the other man a sly wink. The middle-aged man shook his head.
"Just like his father."
"And every single one of his ancestors, right down to Tony Stark." added Jameson. Jay planted his palms on the table and leaned over it to look each of his board members in the eye.
"Gentlemen, we have the evolution of mankind in our hands and if we play our cards right we'll all be a lot richer. Now, do I have your support?" All the board members gave their assent and Jay ended the meeting.
