She doesn't get why he hates horror movies at first, but doesn't press the matter much more than to call him a scared little girl and watch them on her own. Jack watches them with her, so it's not like she's alone.
But when she decides to experiment, she almost feels bad.
Jordan leaves a horror movie (Saw IV) on when Perry comes home. She smirks at him when he scowls at the television and keeps walking straight past her with a grumbled hello and nothing else.
She laughs at him as he turns in early, but decides to leave the rest of it for the remainder of the evening. When she's sure Perry's really asleep, she pulls out the butcher knife and karo syrup she'd dyed red earlier and began spattering it all over her body with a grimace.
Disgusting, but so worth it. Perry was going to shit.
Jordan finishes up, ensuring that she looks suitably bloodied up and that the knife looks nice and wet in the moonlight. She thinks about adding more, but decides the devil's in the details. So she makes her way down the hallway next and carefully opens their bedroom door.
Perry's sleeping restlessly in the bed; he never sleeps soundly. She walks up to him and carefully lays her syrup-coated hand on his cheek. He stirs and frowns, turning his face away from the wetness.
Jordan presses on, letting the syrup drip from her fingers and onto his face. He opens his eyes vaguely at that, slowly trying to focus and look at his surroundings.
When his eyes get wide and he jerks back in the bed, Jordan raises the knife.
Without warning, Perry lets out a blood curling scream and jolts past her like a streak of lightning into the bathroom. She jumps at that, dropping the knife into the floor.
"Perry?" she calls out a few minutes later. She knocks on the bathroom door, but there's no answer. "Perry, I was just playing a joke; Jesus, get a sense of humor already!"
There's still no answer though, so Jordan scoops up the knife and heads out to wash the blood off. When she returns, Perry's still in the bathroom.
"Christ, Perry, it was just karo syrup!" Jordan snaps at the door. "Quit being such a pussy."
Perry whirls open the door, his face furious and his eyes curiously bloodshot. "Zombies aren't funny," he hisses at her and snags a pillow from the bed, as well as a blanket. "I'm going to sleep on the couch."
Jordan raises an eyebrow after him. "Zombies, Per? Seriously?"
Perry doesn't respond.
