Title: Scared
Summary: Claire is scared of losing Henry. Drabble-ish one shot.
Authors Note: I haven't seen the movie in a while, this is just a little drabble one-shot.
Most of the times she was scared
And it wasn't that she woke up alone sometimes, because she got used to that, she had to get used to it.
It wasn't about not seeing him for weeks on end either, she knew that that was the way it had to be, ever since she was little.
"I'm home Claire" he whispered in her ear, she smiled and her heart calmed.
She wanted to keep him with here forever, but knew that it wasn't the case, not with Henry.
"I love you"
"I love you more, Claire-Bear"
She smiled at the name, it was just the way he said it, like he had never given anyone a name before…
But she knew he had.
And that's what she was scared of.
She had known only him his whole life, and sure there had been a couple of flings during high school and university, but she had only loved him.
He didn't even know that she existed when she was already madly in love.
What if one day, he woke up and realised that he didn't want to be with her anymore.
"I love you"
"I don't"
She dreaded hearing those words from him.
Even thinking about it, her heart started to beat erratically, in a panic… scared.
"Hey hey… are you okay?"
She heard his voice, and she nodded, but tears were falling from her eyes.
He pulled her over so that he could see her face, and brushed the tears away with his thumb, he kissed her eyelids, which were still shut.
"I'm okay"
She nodded, "I know"
"What's wrong then?"
"I'm just…" she paused, "I'm scared of losing you"
He hugged her, and kissed her again, "You will never lose me Claire"
But he didn't know, and she didn't know what the future held, even if he was a time traveller.
"I love you Claire" he whispered, "I always will, and I will always come back to you"
She heard him, and believed him.
Even until after his death, she would wait for him.
