Author: David Orson A short poem inspired by the beautiful film, The Fountain, directed by Darren Aronofsky, and a fellow poet prolixius5 whose writing I encountered a mere thirty minutes ago.

She lays in front of me, all knowing smile and vibrant eyes, soon to be a haunting absentee,
I feel the pull of totality, the temptation of destiny, the physics of gravity, the foresight of divinity,
An eternity between you and me, soon to be nothing more than a distant memory, one tear brings me near, breaking down all notions of fear, fear of mortality,
Inadvertently I created an eternity between me and you, forgetting that which I am long overdue, forgive me now as I let go of faithless tears…
and observe as eternity transforms inwardly.
