Well, minna, as promised, here is the alternate version of the end song, written by Xara. The other was chosen to be included inside the actual text of the story because it was the first one written and something about it called to me slightly more than this one. BUT I do adore this version, as well, particularly the chorus, so I wanted to share it with all of you. Hope you like it!

Once again, thanks very much for all of the reviews! It has been a pleasure! And, as always, thanks for reading!

Ballad of a Lonely Heart

A few snatched looks

This is just everything I've ever had

I’ve never been offered more

How I love to dream a dream that will never finish

How I long for a love that lasts longer than infatuation

What I've ever got was never what I wanted

This emotional plain around me was never my plan

This is just the lament of a desperate soul

Who dreams of love

This is just the terror of a naive child

Who sings of love

This is just the cries of a desperate romantic

Dreaming a story

That was never meant to start

This is just the ballad of a lonely heart.

Love for me

Is ever elusive

I’ve been dropped alone

In this cold world

No one to care for me

Except for a man in my mind

I dream for hours

Of his strong arms

Being wrapped around me

Whispering love poems in my ear

Will I ever find him?

This is just the lament of a desperate soul

Who dreams of love

This is just the terror of a naive child

Who sings of love

This is just the cries of a desperate romantic

Dreaming a story

That was never meant to start

This is just the ballad of a lonely heart.

No matter how far I try and believe It’s true

This is just the ballad of a lonely heart.
