Miranda was in her room when a knock was heard on her door. She went to answer the door. It was Carrie.
"I don't believe this," Carrie said all upset, "I'm being sued for sexual comments"
Miranda had to bite her lip to keep from laughing.
After calming her friend down she asked what happened.
"So I had a party a few nights ago you remember that right?"
"Yes. Of course"
"So someone I invited showed up and I said, "I'm so glad you came," and he took that ask a sexual remark.
Miranda read the papers. She picked up the phone.
"Hello," she said after a minute, "Johnny, this is Miranda. Look here's the deal. What Carrie said was not sexual.
"She meant she was glad you could attend her party. Right. Uh-huh. Oh yeah. I see.
"Well what would it take to get you to drop the charges?"
She paused a minute then winced.
"Okay," she said, "I'll see you tonight. Pick me up 7 o'clock."
She hung up
"Charges dropped," she said, "and you owe me a cup of coffee"
"Done and done," Carrie said, "How did you get him to drop the charges?"
"I agree to go on a date with him," Miranda said, "coffee and dinner"
