Hi, this use to be "If You Can't Take the Heat, Get Out of the Kitchen", but I've had some reconsiderations for the plot. For starters I've decided to change the location to Ryan Bolduan's Shadowrun version of the Twin Cities (St. Paul/Minneapolis, Minnesota). My decision for this was based on the fact, almost everyone uses Seattle (not to say it isn't a cool setting), and I wanted to be different, and liked the ideas he presented. (though I changed some things, such as updating the Cities to the 2070s, and modified some things to make them fit my feel for the story better).

Again I'm new to Shadowrun, used the 4th edition rules since that's all I have available to me. However, I used the old slang/curse words to honor the older editions, since I know what its like not to feel a new edition. So here's the story, hope you enjoy, and comments and suggestions are welcome. (It will be updated a chapter at a time).

The Tsev Neeg Run

Prologue

Yoogy sucked down another gulp of air, filling his mouth and nose with the putrid miasma of the sump. It made him want to vomit, despite the thick cloth wrapped over his face. His lungs were also starting to burn from more then the toxins as he ran, along with the muscles in his legs. Despite all the practice he had over the years, fleeing from various representatives of security companies and gangs, the mutant canine-things were wearing him down - and Yoogy had his share of run-ins with dogs before, but nothing like these freaks. He turned to face his pursuers, feeling one of the beasts gaining on him; the stubble on the back of his shaved head rose as it's growls grew louder. Swirling around, he knew he only had seconds to clear his goggles of the mud, that engulfed the urban swamp, and raised one of his pistols.

With his vision clear, Yoogy was free to see the mutant leap at him with a snarl. The huge creature had a body that was vaguely canine, but it looked more like a thickly scaled fish-lizard. It's bone crunching fangs spayed a noxious green venom, ready to both tear and infect his flesh. Facing certain death, Yoogy's finger squeezed the trigger. The gunpowder ignited, propelling the bullets of his pistol into the creature, exploding into it's neck and chest. With a loud yip of pain, the mutant was sent flying back into a mound of sickly looking mud, seemingly vanishing into the gunk.

Cries of pain signified it still lived, despite the lead filling. They were quickly drowned out, as the mutant's packmates caught up. Yells to hurry, from his cousin Tone, and their guide, the elven girl, Monica, called for his ears as well. Yoogy didn't more then flinch, knowing the pack was going to catch up with them anyways. He raised his other hand, which held another pistol. He tried to take aim with both his firearms, but the fear crept into his hands, making them shaky, along with his knees. He wanted to die making a stand, but he wasn't sure he had the will to face their poisonous fangs.

All Yoogy could think of was, Oh why the hell did I agree to this...
