2000 A.D. (Earth Time)
The Lost Lands
The remaining forces of Oblivion tried to make one last stand against Turok, but barely a hundred were left. With their leader gone it was a pathetic fight as they came right at them in the open. Armed with Tal'Set's gray Plasma Rifle and with its rapid firing rate, Joshua and his two siblings killed everything in sight.
Suddenly a massive wave of dark wind and lightning as wide as the eye could see from left to right and as tall as the clouds came at them with tremendous speed. Having no to time to react Joseph was engulfed and disappeared. Danielle was only seconds away from being overwhelmed by it and cried out to her older brother, "Joshua! Help me!" But he was over 20 feet away and he could do nothing and like his younger brother, she vanished. The wave finally passed through Joshua, his weapon was gone but nothing else happen to him. As he looked around, the last of Oblivion's forces were completely gone and the Lost Lands not only looked different, it felt strange. It didn't show any sings of battle that had occurred within the past few years. What were clear skies just a few seconds ago was now the eye of a storm overhead.
One of his new abilities was instantly contacting and communicating with Adon telepathically, "Adon! What's happening? Has Oblivion come back?" She quickly responded, "It's not Oblivion… somehow… the past has been altered, what we see now in are present is the result of that change." Joshua was completely taken back by this, "The past has been changed? How and by who?" She was a little hesitant to answer that, "This is going to sound a little strange… but… a being of light known as the Grotto Spirit has explained this to me, the same one that helped me save you." Joshua didn't fully understand, although this was the Last Lands and he hoped that they had found an ally they could trust, "Well if that's the case, what happen to my brother and sister and why weren't you and I affected by it?" "Are new abilities have shielded us from it and I'm afraid that Joseph and Danielle are not here in this new timeline."
Obviously Joshua knew what the next question should be, "Adon, ask this being of light what we have to pervert in the past from happening?" "For that, you better get here so we can discuss this Josh. But getting here is going to be a problem." He knew there was going to be more bad news, "Why is that?" "The portals that are able to get you here and to other locations are gone." Before he could say or do anything else, Joshua and everything around him stopped. The color of his vision started to distort and spiral clockwise until everything became bright white, what felt like being in a hot and humid jungle environment disappeared instantly.
Unknown location in the Universe
On the same small inverted pyramid-like structure floating in deep space where Adon and Joshua had first met, she could see what was going on in the Lost Lands on a huge wide viewing screen provided by the Grotto Spirit. Suddenly there was a small bright light and Joshua appeared behind her, "Joshua… how did you do that?" He was almost at a lost for words, "I don't know… I just knew where you were and thought of it… and then I was here." Putting her hand on his shoulder she lightheartedly joked, "Well, the ability to travel or teleport with just a thought has come just in time." She then introduced him to the Grotto Spirit, "You can ask her questions, although her information is limited." Stepping forward he asked, "What was changed in the past and by whom?"
"The Council of Voices have sent their new speaker back to the time when Tal'Set was about to destroy the Chronoscepter, but this agent of there's killed him and took the weapon." Joshua looked at Adon, surprised that they had such technology, "There able to time travel?" She nodded her head and stated, "It's been done before. Tal'Set was brought to the Lost Lands from the 1800 hundreds, although that was only transporting someone from the past and not sending a person to that time to change anything, but that's old technology compared to now... as you've seen, alien technology improves light-years beyond human machinery."
Joshua wasn't used to time traveling, the effects and the aftermath it has, "Adon, what would be different about this timeline?" She wasn't use to it either and paced back and forth trying to figure it out, "Well… Tal'Set awoke the Primagen by accident… with that changed I'm still living in Galyanna. Since the Primagen would still be asleep you weren't call to be Turok in 1998." He then thought of something else, "So there are two of us?" She nodded her head, "Well… yes, but even if they were to kill are younger selves, it still won't effect us."
But Joshua knew that only left one person, "What about Oblivion?" She shook her head no, "Neither I nor has the Grotto Spirit been able to locate it anywhere. Most likely the Council sent there time traveler back to kill it before it could gather any strength and because of that, your brother and sister never got involved. You're all still living back on Earth… but that does give us an advantage." Confused he looked at her and asked, "What do you mean?" "For the moment the Council thinks we're gone, they can't see or sense us, they don't know about are new abilities. They won't be expecting us."
The Grotto Spirit spoke again, "It's not just time travel they're using, but opening up portals to different worlds and dimensions. They are looking for powerful allies for help." Joshua folded his arms, "So, not only have they killed Tal'Set, but they want to make sure they've got plenty of powerful beings to help them." Adon brought up past enemies, "The Turok line have killed such beings as General Bruckner, Lord Tyrannus, the Campaigner, the Primagen and Oblivion. They know they're going to need help to destroy whoever stands in their way."
Joshua then thought of something else. "Is there any chance of them bringing back Tyrannus, the Campaigner, the Primagen and other past enemies to combine their strength to fight us?" Adon shook her head, "No, they would never help the Council under any circumstances, and even if they just brought them back without them knowing how or from who, they would sooner fight each other for dominating the Lost Lands. That level of power and fighting would decimate this world."
He then questioned the Council's purpose, "But that very well could happen with other beings that there trying to make contact with." She nodded her head in agreement, "That's true… they could just be looking for new and different technology, weapons, to steal someone's power and abilities and to take someone else's foot soldiers for them to control."
Adon then turned to Joshua, "We need to arm up, and the places we're going to, we need to bring powerful weapons that don't need any ammo or recharging." Nodding his head Joshua then walked to the right side to one of the small four pyramid-like structures. Typing in a code onto a touch screen panel, a small hidden door opened. Inside he pulled out various clothes and weapons that his uncle, Carol Fireseed, had collected when he was Turok. One was a pair of normal black pants and long black hard-sole non-lace boots.
But another, was a strange black flexible plate armor with a black bulletproof vest with long sleeves and a neck guard, it was added in by his uncle to protect other areas that the armor didn't shield. The inside of that had thin glowing blue alien circuitry all around. It was very light but incredibly strong, the plating was made of several layers, resulting in better durability. Once putting on the chest part, it was able to tightly rap itself around his neck, chest, back and waist. His groin was protected by a long black breechcloth that had the same type of light plate armor. The rest was then placed on his thighs and leg guards that went from his keens to his shins.
He could then feel the circuitry entering into his body and there were two reasons for this was. The first one was for two small shoulder mounted auto-target plasma cannons. A long-range energy projector capable of guiding armor-penetrating plasma bolts at distant targets with a red laser sight to increase targeting capacity. It also uses a revolving motion to fire multiple plasma bolts, similar to the Mini-Gun. With unlimited energy it had several levels of power. Its top setting was made to be as powerful as the Fusion Cannon.
The second was for both of his wrist as he attached two high-tech gauntlets with retractable twin arm blades with jagged double edges that were eighteen inches long and three inches apart. They had almost no weight to them, nothing could damage them and they could cut through anything with ease. They were a vast improvement on the Talon and the War Blade. With the circuitry armor linked to this brain, anywhere he looked he could get prefect aim with the plasma cannons and his arm blades could react instantly to his thoughts. Finally two Razor Wind throwing chakrams strapped to the back of his belt and like the arm blades, they could go through anything and hit multiple targets.
A year ago Joshua located a journal that his uncle had left, in one chapter it stated that after he helped a group of tall humanoid aliens from being killed or captured from the U.S. government and from a company called Wayland Industries. For his help he was given two shoulder mounted plasma cannons and the armor. In the journal he describes them as some type of Predator, brutal but honorable hunters and warriors from a clan called the Yautja. The last thing his uncle states is that he improved the armor and firepower of the weapon with technology from the Lost Lands. But Joshua knew that his uncle had died before he was able to use them.
Adon upgraded her two large silver gauntlets to rapidly fire plasma energy and attach a huge retractable spear point blade that was 10 inches long. She also made them into power gauntlets where she could punch or knock down nearly anything. They could block and protect her from most known energy blasts. Finally she installed computer clips that turned them into wrist computers that could unlimited upload or install any software information without having to hookup into it. They could also project holographic schematics of anything.
Joshua then saw Adon holding two small devices, "What's that?" She then placed one on her right arm and the other on Joshua's. "Looks like a small see-through computer chip." When Adon activated them, they liquefied and went inside their arms, "Don't worry, it won't harm us in anyway. We're not to make contact or interfere with anyone in any timeline or in the worlds that we go to. If we're spotted, these devices will make us look like one of them no matter who is looking at us."
But Joshua questioned how well it works on hiding there exact appearance, "Well lets take us for example… sure we'll look like one of them, but a 7' 2" well built male and a 6' 8" well build female won't stand out?" Adon slightly smirked at that last comment, "Whoever is looking at us will see an average size person of their world. I don't want us sticking out. If somehow were spotted, these devices will then cloak us invisible… if that still doesn't work then we'll either have to get out of there or fight are way out."
The Grotto Spirit spoke one last time, "The ability for me to send you two back into time won't be easy, you'll have to go to those worlds before I have enough power for you to stop Tal'Set from being killed. Until then, your mission objectives are as follows… seal up the portals they're using to enter into those worlds. Once you do so, those worlds will be closed off completely. Destroy whatever weapon or being they have taken and stop their agent, this new speaker of theirs at all costs. I am sending the information into Adon's gauntlets for you to locate them and being able to travel into those worlds at anytime. I do not know how long this could go on and I will not be able to communicate with either of you again unless you succeed. Go!" Suddenly there was a bright white light and the two disappeared.
Chamber of the Council
The members of the Council were looking through many types of viewing screens, observing several different dimensions and universes. One of them made an interesting find, "A manifest of cybernetically enhanced humanoid drones of multiple species that have been assimilated. They are organized as an interconnected collective, the decisions of which are made by a hive mind, linked to subspace domain, there are perhaps millions or billions of them. They can also adapt to many types of energy weapons… they call themselves the Borg. They also have an adversary they call Species 8472 that are even beyond them…"
Another Council member agreed that should be one of there targets but knew that at the present moment, it wouldn't be wise, "Until we have gained more supremacy by easier means, trying to take and control that level of power at this moment is ill-advised."
