The room fell silent as the music started playing. Everybody stood and turned to the door, smiles on their faces. I kept my eyes to the front and concentrated on walking without falling over. The bride would probably kill me if I did that.
Ahead of me I could see the groom, his hair tamed as best as he could and his glasses skewed slightly. I shot him a smile to try and calm him down. I could tell he was nervous.
My heart beat fast when I caught the eyes of the best man. The silvery blue bore into mine and made my heart skip a beat entirely. His black hair fell lazily over his eyes like he'd just gotten off a broom and it made me want to run my fingers through it. He winked at me, the corner of his mouth turning up into a slow, sexy smile. I bit my lip and smiled back like an infatuated school girl.
Suddenly the scene changed. Instead of James Potter standing in front of the minister, it was Sirius Black... and instead of the chocolate brown dress Lily had chosen for her bridesmaids, I was wearing a long, white gown. My heart rate increased as I realised I wasn't at Lily's wedding like I should have been.
I was at my own.
"Peyton... walk" Lily hissed from behind me. I hadn't even realised I'd stopped. "Pey... come on... People at staring"
I turned and stared at her. "This is your wedding" I said dumbly, blinking as I realised she was standing in my dress. The chocolate brown one with the white sash around the middle. It had taken Lily, Alice and I weeks to find the perfect bridesmaids dresses, and now she was wearing it!
"No this is your wedding... I'm not marrying Sirius Black" She shook her head and nodded to the groom waiting for me at the end of the aisle. I turned back and saw Sirius himself staring at me, a worried look on his face. He was dressed in the dress robes James had just been in.
"I'm not marrying him either!" I hissed, taking a step back.
"Peyton, seriously... walk!" Alice hissed back and shoved me forward. I took a couple more steps and then I was at the end, standing in front of Sirius.
"Are you ok, Love?" He asked, the wolfish grin he reserved for me and me alone on his face.
"This is Lily's Wedding" I repeated. He chuckled and shook his head.
"No love, it's ours"
I shook my head again. "No... No I wouldn't have agreed to this... I don't want to get married... This is Lily's thing... Alice's thing... not mine"
"Dearly Beloved, we are gathered here today..." The minister started talking.
"Stop! No! This is a mistake!" I cried, waving my hands in his face. They'd stopped listening to me.
"To join these two faithful souls in holy matrimony"
I looked around the church and bit my lip. Everyone was watching happily, some were crying softly. I didn't want this! This wasn't my wedding!
"Do you Sirius Black, take this woman, Peyton Fox..."
"No no no no no!"
"Peyton..."
"NO!"
"Peyton. Peyton Fox... PEYTON!"
Someone yelled in my ear. I jerked awake and blinked at a pair of bright green eyes.
