If you look very hard into the distance, you will see something small and black, and wonder just WHAT on Earth it is that moves in such a funny way. Then you will see that the, "what," is not a, "what," at all, but a who.
And then you will see that the, "who," is indeed a tramp. You now lose interest in the situation, for you, nor anyone else, care about a funny-looking bum with an even funnier walk and moustache. You go back to your daily duties, focusing on that rather than such mindless things.
Eventually he walks past you. Your back is turned to him, but you know he is there, you feel his presence. Against your better judgement, you stop what you're doing, turn your head, and watch as he passes right by you. He kindly tips his hat off. You will not take your hat off for the man, so you allow a faint smile and a slight nod, not completely meeting his gaze. And you think.
What a simple life that would be. Having no home to look after. No family to feed. No bills to pay, no dishes to wash...You stop yourself, shaking your head as if this will rid you of your thoughts. What a life indeed! You sneer at him and return to the task at hand for the last time.
As he, the tramp, walks off into the sunset, however, you deep down really do speculate what a life he must have. The freedom. You can't help but wonder...
The tramp himself, though, is not doing any wondering at all.
