She looked at me with a smile on her ruby red lips. Her smile spells trouble, mischief and just a little insecurity. All she wants is to be loved. Little does she know she already is. I love her, and everyone knows it, except she. I love her with all my being and she doesn't realise it.

She looks around the laughter filled Carnival, trying to be discreet, but I know her. I know her every smile, every scowl, every laugh I know all her expressions and every reason behind them. Unlike him. This goddess was only a conquest for him, a stupid little game. He wants to have sex with her and leave her, unlike me. I want to hold her, to make love to her, I want to make her smile, make her laugh. I want to be with her. Unlike him.

The fireworks have started, and instead of watching them, I watch her face. Her face is filled with a childlike wonder. The fireworks get more intense and she smiles and giggles. She loves fireworks, ever since she was little. An arm snakes around her waist and she blushes and smiles up at him. I know where he was. He was making out with Jessica Stanley behind the Boy's toilets. I would of told her, but I didn't want to ruin her night.

She slowly stands on her tippie toes and presses her lips against his. And I die.

"I'm ready" She whispers in his ear. And he smiles a wolfish grin. My world starts to shatter around me.

No no no no no no I yell in my head. This isn't what's supposed to happen. She isn't supposed to lose her virginity to this scum bag. She turns to me and tells me their going back to his place. I fake a smile and nod. He gave me a smug look.

"Suck it" He mouths to me.

"Thanks" She smiled. "your a great friend"

And then she was gone.
