Two and a half hours later the Justice League stood in the centre of the main room, listening carefully to Batman's information that they had collected while at Star City. The league got treated for any injuries during their encounter with Ivo who had fled as soon as Superman had arrived. Robin also got medicine and was very tired and beat yet he insisted that he stay up and listen to Batman's announcements.

Robin looked up at the holographic screen with tired eyes. He was so exhausted; his body was heavy and his legs were getting weak from standing, his ribs still hurt from the previous battle and he found it very hard to concentrate on what Batman was saying. He placed a hand to his mouth as he gave a quiet yawn.

Superman who was standing outside the group smiled as he saw the kid try to hide a yawn. Superman began to realize exactly how tired he was. He had flown all the way to Star City and back (He was especially exhausted from coming back because he had to speed extra fast when the League signalled that they were in danger.) and take on a giant robot with some of League's super powers; luckily Batman shut it off and dismantled it before any further damage was done.

Clark glanced at a holographic clock it was four in the morning. Superman glanced back to Robin whose eyes were half open. Superman walked up to him and placed a hand gently on his shoulder. He felt Robin jump a bit in surprise and looked up to him. Superman smiled down at him.

"Come." And he steered Robin down one of the corridors.

"But Superman, what about Brick?" Robin asked concerned.

"Don't worry about it. You need rest."

Robin stopped suddenly his arms folded.

"Don't worry? Brick is a bad guy! And I need to know what the bad guys are up to!"

Superman looked back smirking.

Stubborn just like Bruce.

"Oh really?"

Suddenly Clark launched forward and swept the child off his feet and began tickling him as he flew towards the bedrooms. Robins mask began to get wet as his eyes welled with tears of laughter.

"Stop! Please stop!" he cried between high pitched laughs.

Clark chuckled as he heard the child's plea. Suddenly Robin cried out in pain clutching his ribs and Clark immediately stopped. Superman looked down at the young hero realizing that he probably did more harm then good.

"Are you okay? I'm so sorry I forgot."

Robin waved him off.

"I'm fine. It already hurt for a while now." He said giving a reassuring smile.

Robin yawned as soon and Superman raised an eye brow.

Robin shrugged. "I guess Batman can tell me about Bricks plans tomorrow."

They soon reached an available bed room and Superman looked down at the child in his arms and smiled. Robin was already fast asleep in his large arms laying his head on Clark's muscular arms.

Clark glided over and gently placed the child on the bed. He pulled the sheets over the small shoulders and left quietly a big smile on his face.

When he got back the main room was empty other then two people. The rest of the league had turned in for the night. Clark smirked as he saw Flash on the sofa who had apparently fallen asleep right after he left. And in the middle of the room typing away at a holographic computer was Bruce who had removed his cowl.

"Where is he?" he asked without turning.

"Sleeping in a bedroom down the corridor." Said Superman as he landed beside him.

"Aren't you tired?" asked the kryptonian.

"Can hardly keep my eyes open." Replied the billionaire matter-of-factly. "But remember Ivo knows where are the cave is. We will have to move… but for now I need to upgrade security."

Stubborn…

"It can wait until morning Bruce. Ivo has fled robotless. He is not gonna be attacking tonight." He said placing a hand on Bruce's shoulder.

Bruce sighed and reluctantly turned off the holographic computer.

"Well at least Flash can let us know if anyone comes." Bruce said his eyes watching the snoring Scarlet Speedster.

Clark nodded and began to fly down one of the corridors. He stopped looking back at Bruce.

"Oh and Bruce." Batman looked up.

"You got yourself one hell of a nice a kid." And he flew out of sight. Bruce smiled to himself.

Bruce walked towards the room where Robin was deep in thought. They had gotten a lead in Star City when they received the distress call from Martian Manhunter he got worried but when Diana called then he had begun to panic for the sake of his adopted son. And he wasn't very forgiving when he saw his ward being strangled by a giant android. Luckily Dick wasn't injured too badly and he was quiet proud that his son insisted on staying up for information about Brick. But he was glad that Superman persuaded his protégé to get some much needed rest.

Before he knew it he was standing outside of the door. He opened it and found his protégé sleeping soundly with Wonder Woman sitting on a chair at his head.

"Diana? What are you doing here?"

She turned to him smiling.

"I love being around your son." She said as she gently brushed back his bangs out of his eyes.

"He is not my…" he paused awkwardly before his features softened. "Yeah, so do I."

He took a seat beside her.

She cupped Dick's cheek with her hands and he unconsciously snuggled his head into her palm. Her smile widened but then fell as she turned to Bruce.

"One question Bruce … Why? Why let him become a crime fighter at such a young age?"

Bruce looked away and remained silent. Diana was about to sigh knowing she wasn't going to get an answer when…

"Because he witnessed his parents deaths with his own two eyes just like me. Since then he was so full of sorrow, loss and revenge. I knew if I didn't give him a way to use those emotions then he would have found another way for the worse. He was also so skilled in every way. So agile, energetic and full of stamina yet he was so intelligent then any other kid I've seen of his age and probably older. He had hacked the Bat computer five days after finding the cave. It was only a matter of progressing those skills and taking on a few more that would be needed in the field and then he would be the perfect crime fighter. I was reluctant at first but after a few … incidents I came to realize that I would be foolish not to except his offer so then he became Robin."

Diana looked at him wide eyes as he still looked away.

"I know where you are going with this Bruce but… I'm quite scared that Robin will seriously hurt himself one day."

"You think I don't realize that Diana." He growled as he turned to her. "Every night, every patrol we begin I fear that this might be our last. That he could get seriously injured or kidnapped or …worse. I don't know what I will do without him"

Diana put a hand on his shoulder.

"Bruce you're not alone. Listen to me, you have us; The JLA. We care about him now too. We will protect him when you need help. I'll always be around."

"I know."

They stared at each other for a few moments before Wonder Woman broke the silence.

"I better get some sleep." She said standing up but suddenly he stood up and took her arm and pulled her into a passionate kiss. Diana was stunned for a few seconds but then closed her eyes slowly and returned it. She felt his muscular arms slither to her waist and she placed her arms around his neck pulling him deeper into the kiss.

Robin squinted his eyes a fraction and would have thrown up at the sight if his body didn't feel so heavy.

Diana slowly pulled away and swept her hand down Bruce's muscular cheek and walked out unable to stop smiling. She shyly put a lock of hair behind her ear as she closed the door.

Bruce watched as she did then without looking at his son muttered. "You didn't see anything Dick."

He heard a sarcastic whisper. "Sure." And he fell asleep once more.

Once Bruce was sure he was asleep he walked over to him and peeled the domino mask off his face and placed it on the bedside table.

"Sleep well… son."

Bright morning light crept its way into the quite room. Robin's eyes fluttered open and he yawned loudly stretching his arms which soon turned out to be a bad idea as he gave a small yelp clutching his ribs.

He looked over and saw his civilian clothes lying on a nearby chair. A few minutes later Robin was changed out of his suit into a red hoodie, dark skinny jeans, black converse and dark shades.

He walked down the corridor and a few minutes later arrived at the main room. There were five members of the League in the main room; Flash, Black Canary, Hawkgirl, Captain Marvel and Green Arrow.

A quick gust of wind blew his hair around his face and the Scarlet Speedster appeared in front of him grinning.

"Morning kid! Want some breakfast?"

"Uh…" his stomach made a timely growl. "Okay." The BoyWonder replied flushing.

Barry took his arm, there was a gust of wind and Robin found himself inside the kitchen. He did a small flip and landed on the kitchen island where he sat down. Flash had already begun frying eggs and bacon.

"You cook?"

"Of course!" replied Barry brightly. "When you're my age you have to cook your own food. And I have a serious metabolism." He said as he began cracking twelve eggs at the speed of light.

Dick was beginning to get dizzy so he looked away.

Captain Marvel walked up to him.

"If you are wondering Bats had some important business to attend to and will be back in the next couple of hours before taking you home. He said to take-"

"DONE!" said Flash as he quickly handed Robin a plate of two eggs and a two strips of bacon. He quickly polished off his own ten eggs and twelve strips of bacon and wiped his mouth with his spandex covered arm just as Dick began forking down his own.

"This is delicious!" he said smacking his lips. But not as good as Alfred's!

"To let you know that was his third breakfast." Said a feminine voice and the three of them turned to Black Canary who walked over to join them.

"Serious metabolism, hello!" said Flash.

"Anyway Robin" continued Captain Marvel. "Bats told me that you should take it easy and not do any training or anything. He also said not to hang around too much with Flash." He added smirking.

"What? He never said that… Marvey" smirked Flash.

Captain Marvel rolled his eyes at being addressed with his nickname.

The other three ignored him and started walking back to the main room. Captain Marvel and Flash argued amongst each other and Robin and Black Canary trailed behind.

"Hey Black Canary?" asked Robin

"Yeah, kid?"

"You're a good combat fighter; wanna help me practice my combat?"

"Didn't you just hear kid? Your dad will have my head and besides you are injured."

"Only slightly! And you are too! And are you really scared of Bruce?"

"I never said that."

"Sure sounded like you did." Smirked Barry.

"Hey who's side are you on?"

"The kid's of course."

She sighed. "Fine your on." She said smirking at Robin as Flash and Captain Marvel began to give them room. And the computer began to count down and the two contestants held readied positions.

Suddenly green gloved fingers pulled her shoulder.

"Now Dinah, you remember what Bruce said. The kid needs rest not to injure himself further." Said Green Arrow.

"Don't worry Oliver I'll go easy on hi-"

Suddenly Robin's foot swiftly swept across her legs and she fell on her back with a holographic screen beside her saying:

BLACK CANARY

Status: FAIL

Hawkgirl who was quietly watching swished her wings amused.

Dinah's blue eyes looked up surprised at Robin who smiled back innocently. She caught him off guard as her legs wrapped themselves around his ankles and swept him downwards, he yelped in surprise. Before landing on the ground he blocked the fall with his hands and did a back flip and landed a few feet away.

She quickly leapt up standing and waited for him to move.

He ran at her and fired a few punches which she all blocked. On the last punch she grabbed his extended arm and threw him over her shoulder and he landed on the ground with a thud.

"I won." She said smiling.

"Oh, we're not finished yet." He said playfully and he ran at her again raising his arm for another punch. She prepared to block it but it never came. Instead he leapt up and bounded off her shoulders into the dark rafters above.

She stood straight and began searching for a silhouette with her bright blue eyes. The four members of their audience began looking up too.

Where are you kid? She asked herself.

She then heard a fainting sound of something cutting through the air from behind her. Gotcha

She did a back flip and dodged. She turned but her eyes widened as she saw a batarang lying on the ground. She quickly turned behind her but was too late as she saw Robin give her a strong flying sidekick and she fell down with a;

BLACK CANARY

Status: FAIL

"I win." He smiled as he did a few cartwheels.

She smirked up at him. "I guess you did."

He smiled as he landed on the ground. When he landed his ribs gave a nasty throb and his knees buckled before he collapsed clutching his ribs.

In a flash, Barry ran over and caught him before he hit the ground.

"Whoa! It's okay I gotcha."

"I'm fine, really!" he said dizzily and he tried to stand up but lost balance and fell back into Flash's arms again.

"Stubborn just like Batman." Said Dinah rising from the floor. "Enough with the fighting okay?"

He nodded back to her.

"Come, on." Said Flash and he zoomed over to a sofa. "Take it easy."

"I told you this fighting idea was a bad one." Commented Oliver.

"Sorry Mr. Queen." Said Robin a bit embarrassed.

Green Arrows features softened.

"Don't worry about it, Dick. Let's just pretend it never happened."

Robin nodded in agreement.

"Man, all this action makes me hungry!" said Flash zooming to the kitchen.

"Wait for me!" called Captain Marvel flying after him. "You ate my breakfast this morning!"

Robin chuckled.

"Why don't you evercall me Mr. Queen?" asked Oliver to Dinah.

"Because it sounds weird Mr. Queen. Every time I hear it I imagine you in a dress with a tiara or something."

Green Arrow raised an eyebrow at her.

"Okay fine Mr. Queen!Want to come to my quarters for a while your royal highness?" she asked deviliously.

"I think that is in order." He said as he slithered his arm around her waist and they began walk down to the bed rooms together.

"See you around BabyBat." Said Dinah ruffling Robin's hair as they disappeared around the corner of the corridor.

Dick stood up.

"Where do you think you're going?" asked Hawkgirl.

Robin shrugged. "Around. Maybe walk on the beach."

"Give the whole exercise thing a rest, will ya?"

"Please, compared to what I usually do a short walk is little to none of my daily exercise. Plus, I need to think"

"Okay but just make sure you be back here before Bruce comes. And if you're not; I never allowed you out, okay?"

"Deal." He said with a smirk as he turned towards the main entrance.

As he neared the entrance he heard the sound of flapping wings. He looked up and Hawkgirl drifted down to him.

"I just remember I have to go somewhere now so I'll walk out with you."

The two walked out into the open, fresh air.

"What's up with the shades?" she asked.

"Oh… um secret ID. But I suppose it's kinda dumb to wear them when the entire league already know my real name." he said taking them off and cleaning them with his hoodie. He placed them in his pocket and looked up to her with his bright blue eyes.

She gave a long whistle.

"What?" he asked confused.

"You have gorgeous eyes. It's a shame you have to hide them all the time."

Dick felt his cheeks go hot and looked away.

Hawkgirl smirked as she saw the nine year old blush because of her.

"Well, this is where I have to departure. I probably won't be back when you leave so take care." She said holding out a hand. He took it; "Thanks! Hope you're successful in uh… whatever it is your going off to do."

"Doubt it. I'm having a family reunion."

Dick raised his eyebrows.

"You say it like it's a bad thing."

She smirked at him.

"Not all family's are perfect for each other, kid." And then she flew off.

Richard looked across the sea deep in thought. Memories from the previous night following back into him.

"Sorry kid but I promised Batman I'd take care of you and protect you."

"Now stay here, Black Canary is gonna stay here too to make sure you do."

I still needed people babysitting me and risking their lives for me.

"Okay you get the guards and I'll get the robots?"

"How 'bout you stay here?"

They didn't trust or believed that I can take care of myself.

"I was wondering when you would show up, kiddo. I know your NOT Batman.

Batman would have sliced my machine right off its roots and he would have picked a better place to hide.

Is that the best you can do?"

I am so obvious and clumsy and weak compared to Bruce.

"IVO! HE IS ONLY A CHILD!"

Great! Now the League thinks that I'm this pathetic, child who can't look after myself. And the fact that I go my ass kicked by some guy who is even shorter then me and his pet robot just guarantees it.

"What were your parent's hard core criminals that abandoned you to Bats?"

He wasn't even close…

All these thoughts spun in his head but three words stood above them all and echoed in his mind;.

"Your NOT Batman."

Dick sighed.

"Why am I so weak and useless?"

"What makes you say that?"

Robin spun around. He was so occupied with his thoughts he didn't see Superman sneak up behind him.

Clark walked up to him and placed a hand on the youths shoulder. Dick looked away.

"It's okay, you can tell me."

There was a short pause.

"It's just … people think I can do nothing and that I am useless. Robin and Richard Grayson… When I'm Robin I always end up getting captured or get in Batman's way or put myself or other people in danger.

And then when I'm Dick Grayson adopted son of Billionaire Bruce Wayne people see me as worthless and ask Bruce why he even bothered with taking me in.

I overheard some photographers a few days ago saying that Bruce couldn't keep any steady relationships because of me, that he wasn't himself when it came to business since I came along and that I was just a distraction to him. And when I think about it… I think that they are all probably right."

Clark looked down shocked at the small child. He could feel his heart ache as he saw tears streaming down his face. He had to have a chat with Bruce.

He knelt down in front of him and placed one hand on his shoulder. Using his free arm he held up Dick's chin so he looked straight into those magnificent blue eyes.

"Dick, listen to me. Don't you ever, ever listen to those people. Those kind of people feed off the emotions of others and if they ever found out what your really like then they would never, ever dream of even thinking those things about you. But they don't deserve to know you. And about Bruce changing I have to say that ever since you did come along that Bruce has changed. I have never seen him so happy, pleasant and emotional. You make his life whole, Dick.

And the whole crime fighting thing; I do think that you are too young but that's beneath us now but don't compare yourself with that android you faced last night. I can't tell you how brave you were to tackle that thing all on your own. Kid, I couldn't defeat it had it not been for Bruce. And believe me when you get to our age you will certainly be a better Superhero then we will ever be. You are one really special kid."

He smiled reassuringly at Robin. Suddenly Robin jumped in his arms and gave him a tight embrace. Clark held the child tightly in his arms.

"Thank you, Clark." Robin whispered in his ear.

Clark smiled wider which was becoming quite a habit around Dick as his grip tightened.

The Batmobile roared to life as its two passengers walked towards it.

"Take care Bruce for me won't you?" said Diana hugging the nine year old who hugged her back.

"I'll try."

"And don't forget that next time you have to tell me all about what Bruce says when he talks about me."

Batman eyes widened as he looked down at Diana and Robin who were grinning evilly at him.

Robin began bidding fair well to the rest of the members.

"We have to have a rematch okay?" said Black Canary shaking his hand.

"Defiantly!"

"See you around Richard." Said Green arrow also taking his hand. "Oh! Here is a souvenir." He added handing him one of his arrows.

Richards eyes widened in joy as he received the arrow. "Wow! Thanks!"

Next he moved to Martian Manhunter.

"Nice meeting you Mr. Manhunter."

"The pleasure is all mine. I actually have a niece back in Mars who is around your age perhaps you could be friends."

"That would be great! Tell her I said hi."

He shook hands with everyone else until he got to the last two; Green Lantern and Superman.

"I never got to thank you for saving me yesterday so thanks a million. You were right you really can handle yourself."

"Thanks Hal." Said Robin with a smile.

Finally he came to Superman.

"Don't forget what I told you." He whispered as he embraced him one last time.

"And if you ever need anyone to talk to I'll always be around."

"Thanks Clark, for everything."

Clark reluctantly let go of the child. Robin walked up to his mentor and the two of them hopped into the Batmobile and out of sight. Batman a little faster then usual as he wanted to escape Diana's view.

Once out of sight the rest of the league flew and walked off in different directions leaving only three members sitting in the main room; Green Arrow, Flash and Aquaman.

Flash sighed as he flopped on the couch. "Man, I'm really getting fond of that kid."

"Yeah, makes you want to have your own little partner." Said Oliver.

"Batman of all people having the first sidekick." Added Aquaman. "Quite a big responsibility too."

"Who knows? Maybe we might have sidekicks of our own one day." Said Green Arrow.

They looked at each other before saying in unison; "Doubt it."

Okay DONE! :( Aww well!

I had soooo much fun out of writing this chapter and i don't know why... hmmm... ANYWAY This chapter was as long as the two previous ones together. I kinda wanted to make a Grand Finale. I TRIED to get Robin interacting with as many different League members as possible without making it boring. I also tried some Romance and a smidge of Action (Not my best type of writing though! ;D )

I was actully really surprised that I got so many reviews especailly from writers that are like Idols to me when it comes to YJ fics. I love you all!

Even more surprised at the response I got with my sequel idea. I WILL do it but school just started again so it might be a while. Thanks again!
