Chapter 1

"The Beginnings"

Many years ago, a baby girl was born. She belonged to a powerful woman named Yvaine. As Yvaine died with her daughter in her arms, she whispered, "I love you," and with that, slipped into a slumber in which she will never wake up from. As her mother died, the baby cried louder than ever.

16 years later, the baby grew into a young, beautiful girl named Star. She was like every other girl; had outstanding work with her studies, was very helpful, and as pretty as the other girls, but the only thing different about Star was that she lived with her father, who was the prince of Mayana Leia, a small island in the coast of Jamaica.

Mayana Leia was named after the founder of the island. Mayana also had a twin sister named Luna Rosa, which was the island her mother came from.

Now, Star knew about her mother, but she didn't know what happened to her. All she knew was that her mother, Yvaine, gave birth to her, and then ran away because islanders of Mayana Leia were not supposed to be with islanders of Luna Rosa, or so her father tells her.

And now, after 16 years of waiting, Star has finally reached the age where she may officially become a princess, as her father is king.

Star hoped that something different will happen, and if she waited for it to happen, then maybe it will come true.

As Star waited for her dresser, someone knocked on the door. "Come in!" she yelled from inside the room. A man with thick, blond hair and electric blue eyes walked in the room. Star looked at him, her long, brown hair dangling from her waist as she spoke, "Who are you?"

"You don't need to know who I am, Princess. It's only important that I know you."

Star only stared at him, paralyzed at the thought that a strange man was in her room.

"Why are you here?" she sputtered.

"I'm on a mission, and you are part of it," he replied.

"What mission?" she asked.

"I'm sorry, but that is classified," was all he said. "Now, come with me, Princess."

Curiosity consumed her mind, and as it did so, she did what he said.

He walked to the window of her large room, and swung his legs over the window pane, and beckoned Star to follow him. As she did the same, he held her by the waist for safety, and said,"You'll be safe in my arms, Princess."

She blushed after hearing those words, and said, "Star, call me Star."

"Star," he echoed.

Then holding her by the waist, he led them down the rope as they went to leave her home.

'This', Star thought, 'is what I was waiting for.'

Chapter 2

"Early Day"

"Where is my breakfast?" questioned the prince. "Today is my daughter's 16th birthday, and I am not going to get hungry during it."

And after he said that, his meal slid in front of him.

"Thank you," he said after receiving his breakfast. The prince knew that today was important because since it is his daughter's birthday, it is also their coronation, so he will throw a birthday/coronation ball tonight.

As he ate, a servant walked to the soon-to-be king and informed, "Sir Nicholas Bruade is here to see you, your Majesty."

"Send him in," the prince replied. And as he was eating, Bruade sauntered in, speaking to him, "Nice to see you again, Thomas."

He spoke in such a soothed voice, that it sent chills up Thomas' spine.

"What do you want, Nicholas?" asked the prince.

"Well, I just wanted to say hello to my old friend. Now is that such a crime?" he responded sarcastically.

Thomas glared at him. Bruade used to be his best friend, until he took away the love of his life.

"You know what you did, Bruade, and I will never forgive you," the prince spoke. "And I will never tell my own daughter what really happened to Yvaine that night. I don't want her to feel betrayed and upset about me not telling her. And she will never feel this way if I never tell her."

"But, my friend, she will know sooner or later, so she might as well know now," responded Bruade.

"I am no longer your friend, Nicholas, and I never again will," remarked Thomas. "Now leave!"

"Fine, fine," Nicholas responded, "But I suggest you think about it." And with that, Bruade left Thomas' sight and smirked.

'What is he up to?' Thought the prince. Then, while thinking about it, the dresser came

screaming to his table.

Chapter 3

"The Start of Star's Journey"

"So where are you taking me?" Star asked the stranger.

"Here, I'll trade where I'm taking you to, to what my name is, fair enough?" he responded.

"Fine," she answered after a moment of hesitating.

"My name is John," he finally responded to her question from earlier.

"Okay, but I'm still going to figure out about this 'mission' of yours, so spill," she demanded him.

"You won't understand, not yet, anyway," he muttered.

"Hmm?" she asked.

"Nothing," he responded.

It took Star only a minute to realize his eyes sparkled in the sunlight, and she wondered what they would like in the moonlight.

'Moonlight!' she thought, and suddenly remembered about her birthday.

"Oh my, gosh!" she cried.

"What? What's wrong?" John asked.

"My birthday! I have to back home by nighttime. I shouldn't have done this, I shouldn't have!"she began to cry.

"Shh, shh…" he tried to calm her down. "It's all right; my mission is as simple and quick as getting to Luna Rosa."

"Don't you dare talk about that island!" she screamed.

"Why?" he asked concerningly.

"Because that's the island my mother came from," she continued, crying, "before she ran away."

"I'm so sorry," he tried comforting her.

"No, you're not," she denied.

"Yes, I am, you know, I lost my mother when we visited Mayana Leia, when I survived through the bomb."

"Visited? Bomb? You were there? And you're an islander of Luna Rosa? Oh my, gosh!" she cried.

"Yes, about everything. What's sad, is that both my mother and godmother died when I was 2 years old," he informed her.

"What were their names?" she sniffled.

"My mom's was Jordana, and my godmother's was Yvaine," he answered out of memory.

"Funny, my mom's name was Yvaine, and her best friend was named Jordana."

His mind was moving, but apparently, hers wasn't.

Suddenly, John felt an explosion under his feet, and said, "Quick, hide here!"

'What is going on here?' Star thought as she hid with John, his warm breath scorching her neck. And as she thought this, men in uniforms raced past her and John on horses.
