Something I wrote for for my AP Lit class. It's supposed to be an acompaniment poem to Frankenstien, but the only way I could make it work was to make it about Edward. Thought someone might like to read it.
Crimson tears hit the floor.
There was nothing left.
The circle faintly glowed,
But the light didn't reach my eyes.
They told us it was wrong.
The laws forbade us,
But I had thought we could do it.
I thought we were better.
The Law of Equal Exchange
Rang in my head.
In order to create,
Something of equal value must be given.
The boundaries of life and death
Are set for a reason.
No one is meant to come back,
For what could possibly equal
The price of a human soul?
Our research had been twisted.
There wasn't a thing we could do.
That thing we created,
It wasn't human anyway.
The Price
