The Charge of the Light Brigade brought up to date: Forward the Anglians

Half a mile, half a mile,

Half a mile driving

All in Afghanistan

Anglians arriving.

'Forward the Anglians!'

Guerrillas there mangling

Into the valley of death

Drove Royal Anglian

XXXX

'Forward the Anglians'!

was there any brangling?

Not though the soldiers knew someone had blundered

Theirs not to seek for thanks

Theirs but to keep to ranks

Though denied aid from tanks

Into the valley of death from support sundered

XXXX

Snipers to the left of them

Snipers to the right of them

Booby traps all around maiming and mangling

Landrovers armour-bare

Easy the target there

No support could they spare

Into the valley of death drove Royal Anglian.
