As I walked to school I couldn't help but be in a good mood. It had been almost a week since the Scout Hunter had been defeated, and Amy and I had told each other how we felt. And now finally we were going out! I was walking to school, and I noticed Serena, "A little early for you to be up, isn't it Serena?" I asked her, from what I knew Serena had quite a reputation for being late. "Ha, ha, very funny Mike." Serena replied. I smiled, I had friends, a girl I loved more than anything, and for once my life didn't seem, empty. "Actually," Serena said, "I have a doctor's appointment this morning, so I don't have to go to school anyway." That would explain why she seemed so happy. "Bye Serena." I said walking away. I finally got to school, Amy was already in her seat. "Hi, Michael!" Amy said as I walked in. Just seeing Amy made me smile more, I could tell I was going to have trouble paying attention in school today already. The fact I sat right behind Amy didn't help any, either. As the day went on, all I could think of was is everything going to go right? What if I say the wrong thing? I didn't get much out of school, that day. I just wish I knew what Amy was thinking. Was she as nervous as I was? She always seemed so relaxed, that's one things I like about her most. It was going to be a long school day.
-Amy, Amy, Amy- Oh, gees! I was daydreaming again! I can't do this homework, everytime I start I end up scribbling all over my paper. Oh, well I better get ready for tonight anyway.
Looking in the mirror, I had to check and make sure I had my tie on right. It looks ok, I hope. As I stood outside waiting for the cab, so I could pick up Amy, I wish I had something to give her. Hey! A flower vendor, what luck! Wow, what a beautiful blue flower, Amy would love that. "Um, excuse me Miss" I said, "How much is that blue rose?" The lady was looking at my suit, "For you young man?" She said, "$2.00, so you can give it to your lady friend." "How'd you know..." That didn't make sense, how could she know I was going on a date? "Just a guess, most people your age don't dress up unless they have a date, or their parents make them. And I don't see anyone else here." Ok, she had just guessed that made sense. "Thank you." I said and smiled, as I handed her the money and took the rose, just as the cab pulled up. What great timing!
Boy, this cab ride is taking a long time. I just can't believe I'm going on a date with Amy! But then again I've known I loved her since we met in the classroom. But I guess it took the whole Scout Hunter thing to prove that to ourselves. God, I'm glad that guys gone, He was a jerk as Spike, and monster as the Scout Hunter. I've been trying for a week to do that whole 'Mercury Electrical Ice Storm Blast' move again. I guess it just happened because of what Spike did to Amy, I just kind of flipped. I don't think I'll ever understand how she came back from the dead, but I'm glad she did. I don't think I could live without her. This rose really reminds me of Amy, I hope she likes it. I just wish I could remember my past, what I've spent with Amy before. Hey! I think we finally made it.
"This is the place, stop here." I told the cab driver, as we pulled up to Amy's house. I don't know why I am so nervous, I've been here before. Just relax Mike, your fine. I knocked on the door, and tried to look as calm as possible. Amy opened the door, I think my heart stopped. She was standing there in the most beautiful blue evening gown I had ever seen. "I, I, I." I couldn't talk is what it was. "Michael? Are you ok?" Amy looked at me kindly. I handed her the rose, "This is for you." I managed to say. "Its beautiful! Thank you. “Amy said putting the rose up to her nose to smell it. I motioned towards the cab, "Shall we go?"
We arrived at the museum a few minutes before the unveiling of the new exhibit was scheduled. We found our seats, and sat down. The event was outside and the stars were shining, this was going great! Amy was still holding the rose. I think that's a good sign. "Is this thing on?" the announcer said tapping on the microphone, "Hello, ladies and gentlemen. Tonight we are very fortunate to have a wonderful speaker here to talk about the new exhibit, Doctor Stanley Shanes! Doctor?" I reached out and took Amy's hand, she smiled. This was the best night of my life! "Tonight, I was supposed to speak about this new Egyptian exhibit. But I'm not, instead why don't I steal your energy!" What! I looked up and what should I see but the 'doctor' pull off his face, which I guess was actually a mask, and see in his place... Durang. Everyone started to scatter, somehow Amy and I got separated in the commotion. Durang had just ruined my date with Amy, now I'm mad. -Continued in Knight's End-Chapter 2-Into the Darkness-
