This is one of my little "filler" stories. Set in between the Trunks and Android Sagas, it features a completely new villain and storyline...so get amongst it!

Just a note - if you're new to my fics you might want to read 'Warrior's Daughter' first, as this story contains OCs.

Otherwise, enjoy and please review!

Prologue

Mango was not happy.

The soldier strode down the hall of the ship. His boots made a soft clicking noise on the metal floor and his armour rustled as he walked, but otherwise all was silent. The corridor held no decorations and the gently curving transparent walls showed nothing but the cold darkness of space. Normally the lack of environmental stimulation and the silence would have driven him crazy, but he was too preoccupied with the present. His leathery forehead, dilated eyes and lipless mouth was set in his 'sergeant face' - the stern gaze reserved for his underlings and now a habit. However, his thoughts were in turmoil.

He had been ordered to report straight to Doctor Chai with the information he had just received. Although Mango had survived forty years of service to the Royal Family, never had his resolve been tested more. For what the doctor lacked in his race's legendary power, he made up for in aggression - it was no secret that he took his considerable temper out on his minions. Some even spoke doubts about his sanity; though any words louder than the softest whisper were often silenced swiftly and brutally.

Mango nodded to a fellow solder who passed him as he power walked down the corridor. The door to the bridge was just up ahead, and beyond that lay the doctor…and death, maybe. It would be a certainty if he somehow displeased him. The thought made Mango stop in his tracks in front of the door, his bowels loosening in terror.

Be strong, he told himself. If you show cowardice in front of him, you're dead anyway.

Steeling himself, Mango pressed the keypad on the wall and walked through the door that slid open smoothly.

He found himself on the bridge, where an enormous raised platform sloped downwards to an ornate chair placed before the cockpit. The screen showed a map of an alien galaxy.

"Doctor Chai." Mango knelt and clenched a shaking hand over his chest. "I have a report to make."

A rasping voice spoke into the tense silence. "Go on."

He swallowed. "According to our informants, Lord Freeza was indeed injured badly in a battle that occurred approximately two standard years ago. It seems the rumours were true - the victor was a Saiyan."

There was a pause. Mango waited, sweating.

"And?" the doctor said, his voice lowering menacingly.

"F-freeza recovered in time, and according to our intelligence, accompanied his father King Kold to this galaxy, where the Saiyan makes his home…may I?"

The doctor waved a hand, and Mango went over to the map. He touched it lightly with a gloved hand and indicated the planet that appeared. "To here. Earth."

"And?" the doctor said impatiently. "Have you found the Saiyan or not?"

"Y-yes, lord!" Mango replied hastily. "We found a total of five Saiyans inhabiting Earth. But there is no trace of Freeza or King Kold."

There was a long silence.

"Lord?"

The doctor rested his chin on his clenched fingers and stared at the slowly rotating blue and green planet on his screen.

Interesting, the doctor thought. Saiyans powerful enough to destroy King Kold and even the mighty Freeza. They are what I've been seeking all these years.

"Set a course for Earth," he instructed, and the soldiers on the bridge began to work.

At last, he thought, and allowed a smile to spread across his face. My vision will be realised.
