Plotline: Jared leaves his puppy with Booth when him and his wife go on vacation. Booth gets Brennan to help him watch the wily rottweiler.

Inspiration: My muse has been wanting to do Bones again for a long time, and the original owner I had planned for Chris the rottweiler, well logically he wouldn't have a dog. Jared's wife (we're going to say they got married) is Padme, right?

Disclaimer: The puppy is mineish ,but B&B are not.

"Hello, Jared?" Booth answered his cellphone holding up his hand to shush Brennan who had been describing what might have caused the odd state of the remains in their current case. However, the mention of Booth's brother seemed to suffice to silence her.

"Yes, I remember you talking about getting a puppy. What? No kennels? Fine, one week only."

When he hung up, Brennan was giving him a questioning look. "Was that Jared?"

"Yeah, he wants me to dogsit for him."

"You mean dog sit for his dog. Logically if you were watching Jared it wouldn't be dogsitting, and I'm sure Padme would be more than capable of..." Booth cut her off.

"Yes Bones, dogsitting for his dog. Do you know anything about rottweilers?"

They spent the rest of the drive back to the Jeffersonian with Brennan explaining everything there was to know about dogs including a few things that would not help Booth watch the puppy.

After work Brennan offered to come over to help Booth arrange the dog supplies he had bought. They were just putting up the puppy gate when there was a knock at the door.

"I'll get it," Brennan began walking towards the door.

"No Bones, what if it's somebody like Cullen, what will he think about you being here?" Booth began to hiss.

Before Brennan could respond there was a voice from the other side of the door, "Hey, Seeley are you going to get the door or are Padme, Chris and I going to have to stand out on the stoop all night?" accompanied by a canine whine.

"Coming," Booth pushed past Brennan to get the door.

Jared stood on the stoop with a large pet carrier, and Padme was slightly behind him with a large bag of food.

"Come in," Booth stood off to the side gesturing the pair inside.

"We can't stay very long, have to finish packing for our trip." Jared began, only to notice Brennan, "Are you two sleeping together now?"

"No, I'm just helping him get the dog stuff arranged, I should go."

"Speaking of the dog," Padme, having set the bag of food down reached to open the pulling a puppy still young enough to be deceivingly cute, "This is Chris."

"What kind of name is Chris for a puppy?" Brennan stopped at the door.

"Jared thinks it will make him tough." Padme handed the puppy to Brennan which began licking her face profusely.

"Yeah vicious dog..." Booth mumbled.

Should I continue or not?
