A/N: Well, this is my first Tiva fanfic ever! I've been a huge Tiva fan for some time now, and I decided it was high time for me to write my own fanfic about it. Nothing special, just some family fluff. I might do a continuation of this...in fact, I'm thinking about writing a prequel to this first before doing a continuation. What do you think? Please leave me a review! I would love your feedback! Thank you!
At Your Mercy
Ziva cradled the bundle of blankets securely in her arms as she paced slowly around a lavender painted nursery. She smiled softly as she hummed a Hebrew lullaby to the sleeping baby girl. Ziva couldn't take her eyes off the child's peaceful and perfect face.
A soft breeze filtered through the open window as Tony's car pulled into the driveway of the David-DiNozzo household. Ziva heard the car pull up to the house and glanced out the window. She smiled and looked back down at the baby.
"Daddy is home, Tateleh," Ziva said softly as she heard a car door slam shut. A minute later, she heard the front door downstairs open and close. Ziva went over to the rocking chair by the window and sat down. She continued humming the lullaby as she stroked the infant's thick dark hair.
A little cough came from the doorway, causing Ziva to look up from her child. She smiled as her husband crossed the room to meet her. He greeted her with a soft kiss on the lips before he bent over and kissed his daughter's forehead.
"How has she been?" Tony asked softly.
"She has been sleeping for the last few hours," Ziva answered as she stood and walked over to the crib. She gently lowered her daughter down onto the soft crib mattress. She fixed the blankets that were wrapped around the tiny body before muttering something in Hebrew. Ziva then turned to Tony and wrapped her arms around him, both of them looking down at their child.
The girl was an even mixture of her parents. She had Ziva's dark, thick hair, widow's peak, and cheekbones. She had Tony's hazel eyes, nose, and ears. She was perfect in her parents' eyes.
"How did we end up with this little bundle of perfection?" Tony asked Ziva.
"I told you that I was entirely at your mercy," she simply answered with a smirk on her face. She looked up at her husband and leaned up to kiss his lips.
"Ah, when you asked me not to call you Probie….how could I forget."
"And then, nine months later, Rena Carlotta David-DiNozzo was born."
After they found out they were having a girl, the couple agreed on a Hebrew first name and an Italian middle name. Ziva chose Rena because it meant joy, and the baby indeed brought joy to Ziva and Tony. Tony then chose Carlotta because it meant strong. He knew his daughter would be strong, just like her mother.
"Oh, I got something for Rena today," Tony then said as he broke the embrace and reached into his pocket. He pulled out a long velvet box. "I know she can't where it right now, but when she's older she can." He opened the box to reveal a silver Star of David necklace.
"Tony, it is beautiful," Ziva gasped.
Tony smiled at her. "Think she'll like it?"
"She will love it."
Tony placed the necklace on the dresser and took Ziva's hand, tugging her toward the door of the nursery. "Why don't we take advantage of our time?"
Ziva smirked. "I am entirely at your mercy."
