Note: I do not own The Mummy, Brendan Fraser, etc. I am simply a fan. This is a very, very short story with no real point. Please R/R! Thank you.

The Princess of Egypt

Nefertiri walked through the palace corridors. It had been another long day. She hoped to simply relax and enjoy a peaceful night. She walked along until she came to her favorite balcony inside the palace. Resting her hands on it she looked ahead and saw her father's high priest Imhotep standing there. What was he doing here? Only a few moments later Anck-su-namun, her future step-mother, entered through the curtains.

Nefertiri took a deep breath as she watched them kiss. She looked away. NO! But her eyes were pulled back to them. She had always hated Anck-su-namun, especially after Anck-su-namun had gotten the honer of protecting Nefertiri's father, the Pharorah.

She swallowed hard. Anck-su-namun was betraying her father in the worst way. A door banged loudy and a voice called, "Anck-su-namun!" Her father was here.

She watched as Imhotep hid and her father entered the scene. He saw the smeared paint on Anck-su-namun's arm and demanded, "Who has touched you?"

Imhotep came out of now where and drew the Pharorah's sword. Unable to take anymore Nefertiri called to the Mejah, who were just in her sight, "Mejah! My father needs you!"

The Mejah took off to help the Pharorah. Nefertiri watched as Anck-su-namun stabbed her father in the back, then Imhotep stabbed her father in the chest. Leaning far over the baclony Nefertiri screamed, "NO!" and felt herself falling.

A hand grabbed her at the last minute and pulled her over the rail. It was one her handmadiens. Her handmadien pulled her over the rail and within minutes Nefertiri was down the stairs and hurried to her father.

"Nefertiri," he whispered, "I love you." And then he was gone.

Nefertiri felt numb. Numb with pain and the loss. Anck-su-namun's body was not too far from her father's. Nefertiri cried and cried and cried.

A mejah touched her shoulder, "Your highness?"

Nefertiri wiped the tears from her eyes, "Yes?"

"You know who did this? Was it just Anck-su-namun?"

Through her tears Nefertiri said, "No. Imhotep, the high priest also killed him."

"Imhotep!"

Nefertiri nodded, "Please promise me you will make him pay."

"I promise." The body guard swore.

Nefertiri laid in her bed. She hadn't moved in days. She hadn't heard from the Mejah since she had sent them out to punish Imhotep. She didn't care what they did to him. As long as he paid with his life, in the worst way.

Anck-su-namun had killed the Pharorah. That thought still rolled around in her head. Her father was dead. Her handmadiens had told her, continually, that she was now Pharorah and she needed to take the throne.

But she couldn't.

It wasn't right. It wasn't. The throne belonged to her father. But he was gone. Gone forever.

The priests, the few she now trusted, were perparring his body for the after life. But it was before his time. It wasn't right. It wasn't!

She closed her eyes. Her head was pounding. She didn't have the strength to go on. But she had to. She knew that deep down she had to go on. She didn't want to. She wanted to her father. She wanted to be with him. She wanted him to rule the kingdom. Anck-su-namun and her father were to have a son, someday. That son was to take the throne and Nefertiri was to marry a nobel in kingdom.

But that was no longer possible. Now she needed to marry. She needed find a husband, a new king, a new pharoah. But there was no one that could fill her father's place. No one.
