"Lady Misoka, is it okay for you to be going out in weather like this?" Misoka just laughed slightly, waving her companion off. No matter how many times she would tell him, her guardian still refers to her as a highly revered woman.
I guess it runs in the family.
"Of course, Aoi-san. But remember, I'm just Misoka. Okay?" She assured her faithful butler. He just bowed again, his semi-long black locks falling slightly over his eyes.
"I apologize, it's just that you are a god!" He replied, in awe, his blue eyes twinkling. Misoka chuckled, running a hand through her long hair.
"Aoi…I am not a god. I'm a zombie, don't you remember? Besides, I have a brother out there who is just like me." She looked out of the grand window overlooking the city below, looking hopeful. Dark clouds covered the sky and rain poured hard against the ground. Her house was atop a great mountain, hidden from society for a hundred and fifty years. After a moment, she headed once more for the front door, grabbing a raincoat and an umbrella. Aoi tried to stop her again, worried as usual.
"What if you get captured by the Xu Fu?" He whispered, afraid to even mention the name. Misoka patted Aoi's head lightly. Even if Aoi was the guardian, being 25 years old, Misoka always treated him like a child.
"Aoi-san…I've been…alive…for 150 years. The Xu Fu never even heard of my existence. The only person who has is your great grandfather." She smiled at him reassuringly. "I'm glad to have been…blessed with your company Aoi, but I can handle myself. You know that." She took a moment to rearrange herself in the floor-length mirror in the foyer of her home. She was wearing a simple outfit: a pair of jeans and a simple black top. She smoothed her hair out, and put on her white raincoat.
"I'll call you if something happens, okay, Aoi-san?" She smiled brightly at her guardian. Aoi bowed again slightly, looking at the zombie with high reverence. Misoka looked him over once and laughed quietly in her head.
Wearing traditional Japanese style clothing is a tradition in the Saito family, eh?
"I will respond to all of your calls for help, Lady Misoka." Aoi said with a sense of pride. Misoka grinned as she started to open the door.
"Hey, Aoi-san?" She asked as she turned to face her guardian once more.
"Ah, yes Lady Misoka?" He asked, his pride being replaced with slight fear. Misoka laughed in her head.
Poor guy…he acts like he's afraid of me all the time.
"Would it kill you to maybe wear a pair of jeans once in a while?" She asked, half-jokingly. He nodded curtly.
"Of course!" He said, running to his quarters to find the pair of jeans she had bought for him a long while ago; which he probably shoved under his bed. Misoka just laughed and finally headed out the door. As she walked to her sports car, she started thinking about Aoi's grandfather, Kei. Ever since she was a young child, he had always referred to her as Lady Misoka. Even Kei's wife Hikari spoke to her in the same manner.
Lady Misoka…I wonder how many more generations in the Saito family this tradition will carry on.
Misoka smiled at the thought as she got in her car.
I wonder how many more generations I will have to live in until I find my long lost brother…
Misoka gripped the steering as she pulled out of the driveway, heading down the large hill to the city.
I will find you, Shito Tachibana…
