So far up to this point, all my stories in this series have been based on
stuff happening in real life. Well… the last story wasn't. Basically, the
story line is becoming too set in itself for that to work. So, unless I say
so, all the rest of the stories in this series are going to be completely
made up for the sake of forwarding the story line. I hope you all enjoy!

Haruka grit her teeth in irritation.
'What the hell is wrong with me?' She thought to herself. 'I have a
problem, and I need advice. Why cant I just ask her?'
"Damn it!" she blurted out loud.
"Haruka! Watch your language!" Her mother, seated across from her at
the dinner table, scolded. Then she noticed how troubled Haruka looked, how
she was listlessly picking at her food.
"What's wrong dear? You've been mopping around for two days now…"
'Yeah…' A soft voice whispered in Haruka's head. 'Ever since you and
Michiru decided to go for a little drive…"
"Ok mom… here's the deal. I need some advice, and I'm sure that you
could use what I'm about to ask you to embarrass me forever. You're good at
that. But I'm begging you to let this drop after this conversation."
Curious now, Haruka's mother agreed to her strange request.
"All right. There's… someone that I think I'm interested in. And this
person, well… I'm pretty sure that they're interested in me."
"Yeah. But here's the problem. We're friends, and there are…
complications. I have no idea what to do."
Haruka's mother thought for a moment.
"Ok… you need to test the waters. Set up something that could be a
date, but could also be played off as just a friendly evening out it things
Shaking her head, Haruka told her mother,
"I already did that. We went out for dinner. I think that we're both
interested in a romance, but…"
"But you're not sure. Well, what you need to do is up the ante. Set
up another date that could be played off as friendly, but only with a
pretty big stretch."
"That's great!" Haruka said. "There's a dance at the school next
week… It's not too uncommon for friends to buy couples tickets to save a
bit of money, and try to meet someone there. I'll go buy a pair of tickets
tomorrow, and then I can ask her to go with me."
"So Haruka…" Her mother asked softly. "What's her name?"
A needle of ice buried itself in Haruka's chest.
"Its Michiru, isn't it?" Her mother pressed.
"…Yeah… I… she's all I can think about anymore. Every time she looks
at me… all I can think about is telling her how I feel."
Still in a neutral tone of voice, Haruka's mother asked,
"And how do you feel?"
"I think I'm in love. I've never been in love before, so I can't
really compare it to anything else, but…"
Her mother sighed.
"Well Haruka… I can't really say that I approve…"
Haruka's face, along with her heart fell.
"… But if you feel this strongly, Ill support you. I love you, and
just want you to be happy. Even if it is in a way that… I just don't really
"That means a lot to me mom. Half the time that I felt like I could
say something to her, I was afraid to, because I didn't want to alienate
"Well… now that you don't have that to deal with, let's talk about
Ok… that one was extremely short, but I think it was an "about damn time"
story. Sorry it took so long to get out… I'm getting down toward the last
part of an insanely intense school, so I don't really have a lot of free
time. Thank the powers that be for three day weekends!
