Sarah's POV

I stood awkwardly while Cris cried and practically squeezed his sister to death. Everyone else looked genuinely happy for him (and don't get me wrong, I was too. After him seeing his entire family die, he needed this.), but I on the other hand…well, let's just say his sister and I are really "the best of friends".

"WHERE THE FUCK WERE YOU, YOU STUPID BITCH!" he yelled, still smiling.

"O.K. Bro, calm down with the bad language, mom would've slapped you right now." She answered. They both grew a bit solemn at the mention of their recently deceased mother.

"I'm guessing you saw that?" Jackie asked, breaking the silence. Cris nodded, and looked like he was about to cry again. I looked around to see everyone else either silently staring at the twins or looking down, as if paying their respects or something. I closed my eyes as well, not sure if I should pray (heck if I even knew any prayers).

Suddenly, Cris yelled, with happiness apparent in his voice "OH WELL!" We all looked up, stunned, Jackie looking more angry than shocked.

"What do you mean 'Oh well'?" She asked.

"I've already cried enough and said all that stuff," he answered, waving his hand in a kind of shooing motion, "We need to figure a way to finally end all this demonic bullshit. I'm pretty sure mom would've preferred that over us being a sobbing mess." A smile returned to us all, confidence brewing over.

Dante went over to Cris and put him in another headlock, "That's the stubborn fucker I know!" he said, with a huge grin in his face. Again, Cris grabbed his pen and stabbed him in his arm, Dante giving a yelp of pain. "Ah, and that's the satisfying scream I used to always know." He added, with a content smile.

"You fucking asshole sadist."

"Who, me? I'm the sweetest and good-willed person I know! Why would you even think that?" Cris replied with sickly sweetness. Botoku chuckled as Dante glared at Cris.

"O.K, this is all good and crap, but c'mon let's all get down to business." Victor commented. Botoku nodded in agreement, "Couldn't have said any better myself." He looked at my direction, "Did you, perhaps, finish reading the latest Demonville News?" I thought about it for a bit then nodded.

"What about the other 2?" I shook my head in reply.

"You guys had another 2 messages?" Nero asked.

"Well, technically, Cris is the only one with 2. Lauren and I have one more. And the others only had the news."

"Ah, I see. That reminds me…" Nero glanced at Botoku, who was doing something on his DS. "…I guess it can wait." I gave him a puzzled look, but he shrugged and shook his head.

"Hey guys, can I read the next message?" Lauren asked. Nobody argued so she began: "I am glad to see you managed to defeat Beldr yesterday. If you noticed, there should have been a great light that must've whispered a message to you. You are now part of the War of Bel, it is your fate and you cannot deny it, as in doing so will destroy mankind. You must defeat the remaining contestants for the Throne, and you must win in order to save mankind…or do anything else you wish. The details shall come to you some other time. For now, I wish you luck." Lauren took a deep breath, "Wow that was a lot!"

"Throne? War of Bel? What is this shit!?" Cris asked.

"Yeah…remember that light that hit us yesterday, out of that hole where Beldr died? Didn't it whisper something like that?" I said.

"I'm assuming since only you three got it, you guys are the only ones who have to fight for that Throne." Nero added.

"What!?" we all said in unison.

"B-but I don't want to fight! If there are things as powerful as that Beldr guy, then we're going to DIE!" Lauren yelled with dread.

"Hey, guys c'mon, let's calm down for a bit and think about this." Soma said, easy for him to say. HE ISN'T THE ONE WHO HAS TO TAKE DOWN A BUNCH OF HUGE DEMONS!

Cris took a deep breath, "You're right, there's no use panicking about this now. Nothing of the news said anything about another Bel, so for now we're safe."

"Wow, for a second you actually sounded like you knew something." I commented.

He glared at me, but continued, "For now, let's continue helping people out. Now since we have a bigger team," he glanced at the others, "You guys are staying right?" They all nodded, "Well, yeah. So we can do that thing Nero told us."

"What did I tell you…" he put a finger on his mouth, trying to remember. He snapped his fingers, "Oh that's right, splitting up."

Cris nodded, "Yeah. If we do that, we should be able to cover more ground and help more people out."

"But how are we going to be split up?" Jackie asked.

Botoku piped in, "I believe I may have a viable solution to that." We all looked at him. "Considering our strengths, we should split into pairs."

"Wouldn't that be a bit dangerous?" Dante asked, "I mean, considering I have mainly physical skills, it won't really do well against demons who are the same."

"THAT is why I should choose the teams." He answered. I didn't like where this was going.

"What gives YOU the right to choose our teams? I mean, you left us several times already, maybe you're just using this as an excuse to leave more often!" Cris said; arms folded. I nodded in agreement, and soon, the entire team began glaring at the blonde man. He coughed awkwardly (busted) but put up his creepy smile.

"I won't guarantee that I won't leave you. I have many matters I must attend to; in fact, I was SUPPOSED to leave a couple of minutes ago to meet someone. But I believe, considering I have the most experience here, that I should choose the teams. I promise you they are balanced and will work out smoothly, with the lowest chance of survival at about 87%." He said, with confidence. Nobody argued much (except for some grumbling from the Chicken) and we all nodded.

"Great. As for the teams I have decided on this, and I will give a brief explanation on why I decided to pair you up."

"You make it sound like you've planned this all out." Soma said; suspicion evident in his voice.

"Now, tell me, how would I ever manage to plan something like this out?" Before Soma could answer, he continued, "I have simply been studying our team, looking into their weaknesses and strengths. The teams I've chosen balance out where the other is lacking, and vise versa." Soma breathed a sigh and allowed Botoku to continue.

"As I was saying the teams are as follows: Sarah and Nero."

"What!? I don't want to be with that freak!" I complained. I looked at the white haired guy, hoping he'd back me up. Instead, he closed his eyes, thought about it for a bit, and nodded.

"It makes sense. I've seen you fight before…"

"Creep."

"…and you are a well-balanced fighter, doing well in both physical and magical attacks. I am a diverse fighter, being able to change my skills as required. We would make the best team." He explained. I grumbled a bit but finally decided to put up with it. "I look forward to working with you, Ms. Esperanza." He said with a wink.

"How the heck did you know my last name!?" I asked, totally freaked out.

"Oh, I have my ways." He said sweetly. I might end up killing him before the demons get to.

"Anyways, you two are team 1, with the second highest chance of survival." Botoku said.

"Wait, then who has the highest?" Jackie asked.

He turned and gave another creeper grin, "I do."

We all glared at him. God, what a conceded, self-centered, messed-up little-.

"Oh please. We all know I have skills vastly greater than all of you combined. Heck, if I had wanted to, I could've annihilated all of you combined!" He said; his smile turning 3 times creepier.

"Did anybody ask? No, so shut up and continue with the teams." Cris said. Botoku glared at him.

"Anyways, as I was saying, team 2 will be the twins."

Cris hugged his sister, neither looking disappointed. Well, hmm, I'm glad THEY'RE happy.

"Team 3 will be Mr. Drake and Victor." They both silently looked at each then shrugged, not seeming to care. Why couldn't I be with Victor?

"And Team 4 would be…"

"Wait…it's only me and that big dude left!" Lauren exclaimed.

"…Was that supposed to be a compliment?" Dante asked.

"…Yes?"

"Well, that is correct. You and Dante are Team 4. It is ideal because, due to Dante's physical focus. You may back him up with your healing abilities." Botoku explained.

She stared at him blankly, and he was about to repeat it when she shouted, "O.K!"

"Hey, what about you?" Soma asked.

"Me…well, I have other matters to attend to. As I believe I said before, there was someone I was supposed to meet. I'm sure all of you are capable of handling today's crisis. Now, I suggest each of you search different parts of the city. Sarah and Nero, since your team is the fastest, please go to the east side and help anyone there."

"The east side!? That's like 5 miles!" I complained.

"In which you use your demons to your advantage." He explained. I was about to argue further, when I remembered my Nekomata and her power to make me 10 times faster. I sighed than glanced at Nero. "I hope you can keep up, because I'm not waiting on you." I said.

"I'll do my best." He said.

"Team 2, Cris and Jackie, you take west side."

"How are we going to get over there?" Jackie asked, "I don't have any demons that can go fast.

"The one I have can fly, so he'll be able to do it." Cris answered.

"Excuse me; do I not have any say in this?" Said a voice from Cris's pocket.

"No." he answered curtly.

"Team 3, you get the outskirts of the town. With your knowledge of Spanish, I'm sure you'll be able to ask the people there about any demon outbreaks." Botoku said.

They both nodded and began walking over there.

"And lastly, Team 4. You two will get downtown. There is much destruction over there so I suggest you be careful."

"O.K.!" Lauren said. She began dragging Dante by the arm, "C'mon, let's get moving!"

"…Wow, your cheeriness is kind of…scary." Dante commented. And they left.

"And you're not going to do anything?" I asked.

"I will be going to the place of the person I'm supposed to meet. It is in the central area so I'll be sure to take out some demons along the way. Well, I hope all goes well, and I hope to see you soon. Please inform the others to meet back here by the end of the day." Botoku concluded. He put his hands into his pocket and walked away.

"Over-confident much?" Nero asked.

"You'll get used to it. C'mon let's get moving. Nekomata! Come out and play!" I yelled. The cat-woman came out of my DS, looking ready for anything.

"I'll do my best, master!" She said, and we both sped through.

"Agh! Hold up!" Nero yelled.

And with that, we went our separate ways. Not knowing that one of us wasn't going to make it back…

Woo. Another long chapter! I've been working on this since the break finished so I hope none of you thought I was slacking! Anyways, nothing much to report here, except the fact that another person's POV will be opened for until the day ends.
