CHAPTER 1

Eighteen year old Clarisse Renold Falitine Francheska stood in her room starring at the attire her maids had picked out for her. Her straight blonde hair reached her mid-back and her crystal blue eyes stared at the light blue gown with black diamonds. "No, no this is all wrong I said blue with red," she snapped as the maids grabbed the dress and switched it with the next.

"Clarisse, come on Harrison is waiting in the courtyard," her seventeen year old sister Ariella snapped. Ariella Renold Falitine Francheska had sandy blonde hair that matched the length of her sisters her crystal blue eyes looked directly at her sister who looked devastated that her maids hadn't gotten her order right yet.

"Ella, come on you know I have to look perfect," she smiled looking at the clothing set on her bed. With a snap of her finger the maids where dressing her. "See, you worry too much dear," she responded walking over to her sister. "Ella, you need to know how we work, as mother says…"

"Rule with an iron fist," Ella chuckled as the guards bowed to the two girls and opened the doors to their older brother's room.

"Prince Harrison, the young Princesses would like a word with you," his room butler said as a young man sat at a desk going through a stack of papers.

"Yes, let them in," he said as the two girls walked in. "Ladies, how may I help you?" he asked kissing each of their hands.

"You honestly don't remember what tonight is?" Clarisse asked looking completely appalled.

"Hmmm…the annual Gendinhal Grape festival?" he asked chuckling at his sister's face.

"More like the annual mother and father show us off festival," Ariella laughed as Harrison hugged her.

"Well if you two would stop acting childish," Clarisse looked at Harrison. "You should be acting more responsible since you are the oldest of three years," she snapped.

"Take a deep breath Clarisse, relax, I say we show up, make mother and father happy, and then for once can you have a time like most of the teenagers in this country?" he asked Clarisse lifted her head up high.

"I will take that as a no, but you can count on me," Ariella smiled as she placed her hand inside his right arm and Clarisse took his other side. The three made their way up the corridor and stopped in front of the white and gold grand door, the one that lead them into the ballroom.

"Presenting, Princess Ariella, Princess Clarisse, and Prince Harrison," the head guard said as the doors opened and the three walked out onto the top of the staircase. The people at the party all bowed and their mother and father smiled while they dispatched from each other and separately went down the stairs.

Twenty minutes had passed and Harrison and Ariella had become board. "Would you come with me in the garden?" Ariella asked her sister as she nodded and walked through the crowd. The two girls made their way into the garden and stood in front of the gate.

"Ok Ella, I'm out here, now what?" Clarisse asked as her sister smiled.

"NOW!" she screamed as Harrison jumped out from behind her grabbed onto her and pushed her through the gate.

"Stop, let me go," Clarisse screamed and flared as her brother and sister began laughing. They got to the bottom of the hill and they finally let her go. "Fine, I'm out, what are we going to do?" she asked looking around the small city.

"Well first we should change," Ella smiled.

"Ella, this is what people expect from us, we can't change, people need to recognize us," Clarisse said feeling proud of her clothing.

"And besides, Ella, I don't think anyone will recognize us, look what they are wearing," Harrison pointed out how everyone was dressed in the clothing that fit the party standards.

The three of them wondered from shop to shop exploring the town unprotected and Clarisse began to relax and enjoy herself. "See isn't this fun?" Ella asked grabbing Clarisse's arm and stopping in the middle of the street.

"Fine, I will admit that this isn't retched," she responded. As soon as they stopped talking they realized their brother had gotten ahead of them and they briskly walked up the busy street. As they got to the end they heard grunting coming from the end of a dark alley way.

"This way," Ella whispered walking toward the alley.

"Ella, stop we need to find Harrison," Clarisse responded in her reprimanding tone which she barely ever lost. She sighed and ran toward her sister.

"Oh God, please stop," Harrison screamed out in pain.

"Well I wish I could, mate," a tall man with black scruffy hair said holding a knife in his left hand.

"Ella? El-" Clarisse was pulled to the ground and the two girls hid behind the dumpster.

"What do you want, I'll give you anything," Harrison begged as he started to cough.

"Well, let's start off with your sisters, that is after killing you, I will end up finding them having my way and then killing them one at a time, then your parents, and when all there is left of your family, my family will be taking its rightful spot in Gendinhal," the man said lifting the knife and slamming it into Harrison's leg. Ella squeaked while Clarisse grabbed her and pulled the girl's face into her chest.

"Sh," Clarisse whispered as the man looked toward the end of the alley.

"Please, you don't want to do this, you will be the most wanted man in Gendinhal," Harrison said trying to stand.

"You get back down," the man barked stabbing his other leg. Harrison screamed in agonizing pain as a pool of blood began forming around Harrison. Ella began squirming in Clarisse's arms trying to get out of her grip. "Poor little prince, you are going to die alone," he started laughing as he swung his knife again. Harrison tried screaming but no air was escaping. The knife lodged in his abdomen made it impossible for him to do anything. Ella finally got out of her sister's grip and before she could stand Clarisse grabbed a can and threw it down the alley. The man looked in the direction the noise came and jumped over the brick wall that blocked him. When Clarisse had made sure the alley was empty she let go of her sister who ran over to Harrison.

"Oh my God," she squealed looking at her blood soaked brother. "We need to get you to the Royal Doctors," she demanded grabbing his arm as he grabbed her wrist.

"Ella, stop," he said groaning with every word. Clarisse had ran over to him and held onto her sister.

"Who was that man?" Clarisse asked holding onto his hand as the holes in his body continued bleeding out.

"His name is Harnondo Gretcheld, his family had denounced the throne and we had taken over," he said placing his bloody hand on the knife. "You two aren't safe anymore," he said placing his hand on Ella's face leaving a bloody print on her cheek as a cold tear fell down her cheek.

"Don't cry," he winced as he looked toward Clarisse. "Clarisse come closer, closer still, remember rule with an iron fist," he said as she tried smiling holding onto his hand. He kissed her cheek leaving a few drops of blood on her face.

"You're in bad shape, we need to get you back," she said finally having feelings.

"I'm going to get help," Ella said standing up.

"Ella no we need to stay together," Clarisse said trying to stop the girl. "ELLA!"

"Clarisse, go with her, NOW!" he screamed as she rose and without looking back ran toward her younger sister. They ran the twelve blocks back to the palace and into the ballroom as their party guests had gasped in horror at the sight of them. Both of their dresses were drenched in blood as well their cheeks.

"Hurry, we need help," Ella screamed as a few people followed them. But when they returned they were too late, Harrison had already died. "NO!" she screamed kneeling next to his lifeless body. Ella began crying uncontrollably as Clarisse had slowly walked toward her.

"Ella," she whispered as her sister hugged her. The men who had followed them had surrounded his body and the women brought the girls back. The girls returned to their rooms bathed and changed into their night gowns. That night both girls had cried themselves to sleep.

…-_()$$###….***&&&%%%...

The next few days both girls were shut off from the world staying all day in their rooms scared half to death that Harnondo would show up. By the end of the week the US Military had shown up to start a federal investigation not only the military had shown up but the FBI and CIA. "King Raldof and Queen Margret, I have come to offer you, your two daughters' protection?" a man by the name of Richard Freedman head of the FBI asked them. "We understand how much danger they are in right now and think that the best thing to do is getting them out of your country and move them somewhere else," he continued as the king and queen gave it thought.

"Where would they go?" Kind Raldof asked.

"Well, get your girls and meet me in a secure area, we must speak in secrecy," Richard said before the queen rose and walked out of the room. The king had walked with Richard down a long corridor and into a dark room. They turned the lights on and ten minutes later the girls had shown up.

"Princess Clarisse, Princess Ariella, my name is Richard Freedman and I want to make sure you two are completely safe. That is why right now we are planning on bringing you through the witness protection program until we have caught this man, he knows too much about you and you two need safeties," he said as Clarisse looked away angrily. Ella starred happily at him.

"Where are we going?" Ella asked.

"I'm glad we are on the same page. Now first we need to take care of your looks," he said as Clarisse looked angrily at him not liking the words that were coming out of his mouth. Four women came in and took the girls away. They had cut both their hair and died them. When finished Clarisse had shoulder length black hair with red streaks while Ella had hers cut to her shoulder blades and died brown. They took a picture of them both and walked away. Richard had come in and looked at the girls not bad, ok next clothing, you can't wear gowns to where you are going.

"Lay one finger on me and I will bite your hands off," Clarisse threatened almost in tears at the sight of her hair. "This is not me."

"It's not supposed to be you," the man said. "Here put these on," he said throwing clothing at them both. When Ella came out she was in a jeans skirt and pink T-shirt. Clarisse walked out and dressed in Jean pants and black T-shirt.

"Here are your pass ports, you are Clare Francheska and you are Ariel Francheska," he said as the girls took American pass ports. "Here is your story learn it breath it live it," he said handing them a heavy folder.

"You will have plenty of time to learn it on the plane. Let's move it," he said as their parents had walked them to the entrance.

"Be good and don't get into too much trouble," the queen said kissing both their heads.

"We'll see you soon," the king waved as the girls were forced in a helicopter.

"I am getting first class aren't I?" Clarisse snapped.
