Almost Lost
By: Kennedy's Friday Night Delight.
A/N: this was inspired by a picture I saw and it reminded me of Aiden and Lexie. I own Ajay, Kenzie and Joey. Aiden and Lexie belong to cherrybomb13. Based off of Almost Perfect 2
"Babe relax will you? Alex said he is going to get over what you did everything is going to be okay from now on." Chris Sabin assured his fiancée as they got ready to go to their best friend's house.
Ajay fidgeted and looked over at him, "Guilt is a hard thing to get rid of Josh.' Chris walked over to her and stilled her hands, he pulled her into his arms, 'It's all in the past. Soon you and Alex will be back to being the annoying pain in each other asses. And you will go back to being my Ajay."
Ajay nodded her head trying to keep her emotions in check. He pressed a kiss to her head before he turned to finish getting Kenzie dressed.
Ajay had felt nothing but guilt since she had found out that Aiden had went into a coma. She had agreed with Alex when he said it was her fault that they had almost lost Aiden.
Sure she had worked on forgiving herself and talking to Jay and her Gran helped. Chris was helping her too; she just couldn't shake this feeling that it was all her fault. She could have lost her best friend, the one girl other then her daughter and Gran that meant the world to her.
Forget Traci, Bailey, Tessa, Lisa, Velvet and Angelina. This sweet little woman from Savannah showed up in their lives and won her way into Ajay's inner circle quicker then most people did. Which was shocking to most people, though it thrilled the hell out of Chris and Alex.
It had hurt her when she saw her best friend and boyfriend in bed together while they were in the Bahamas; it hurt her even worse when they had kissed in the delivery room when she had Kenzie.
Ajay took a wavering breath as she pulled her sweater on; she was so stupid why did she think that? She had really been that insecure to think that her best friend would have actually tried to steal her boyfriend from her.
She should have known better. Stupidity was one of her strong points sometimes. "Ajay babe come on we are going to be late." Chris called shaking her out of her thoughts. "I am coming.' Ajay said before coming out of the closet.
Joey went running over to her and hugged her legs, "I get to see A-ten's baby now?" 'Yes baby you do.' Ajay answered as he reached his hand up took her hand in his and started pulling on her to the car.
Ajay was silent on the car ride over to Alex and Aiden's house; she was twisting her ring around her finger hoping she could get though the day without breaking down in tears again.
Chris reached over and took her hand in his and kissed the back of it. He was silent giving her the strength that she needed to go back to Alex's house and deal the remaining guilt she was carrying around in her.
Alex let them into the house when Chris rang the doorbell. Joey went running into the house and towards the game room with intentions of beating his uncle in Pirates Lego's again.
Chris followed Joey carrying Kenzie's car seat. Alex looked at Ajay who was standing back by the door. "You know Punk you can come in all the way I am not going to bite. I promised Aiden I would be nice while I am working though this and I am going too." Alex said.
Ajay looked at him and nodded slowly biting back the I am sorry that was forming on her tongue. 'Aiden is upstairs in our room with Lexie if you want to go up there." Alex offered sensing her uneasiness.
Ajay nodded her head and started walking down the hallway. She knew when she came over here when she got back from Toronto she would have never been able to come over if Aiden didn't make it.
She walked up the stairs pausing to look at some of the pictures on the wall. She ran her finger along the one frame before turning to go into the master bedroom.
She stopped in the doorway and a small smile forming on her face. Aiden was laying her daughter down on the bed to change her from her sleeper to a cute dress. The baby was asleep her little arms raised up on either side of her head.
Ajay thought for a second before rushing down the stairs to Kenzie's diaper to get the digital camera in it. Alex and Chris both stuck their heads out from the game room when they heard her steps going running back up.
"What was that all about?" Alex wondered. 'I don't know." Chris muttered before going to pick up his daughter who was fussing.
Ajay got back up to the room just in time to see the picture perfect moment she snapped a picture of it tears streaming down her face as she did so. Aiden would have lost out on all of this. She would have missed out on having her best friend. Thank god she was only almost lost.
Aiden glanced up a few minutes later and smiled at her friend, 'Hey I didn't see you there.' "I didn't want to intrude you two look so cute together." Ajay whispered trying not let that guilt rise up again
"What's wrong?" Aiden asked. 'I am just glad you are still here. I don't know where I would be without you in my life." Ajay answered, 'Aiden you are really my best friend. I am so sorry for what I did." "Ajay it's in the past." "I just don't want to ever almost lose you again." Ajay whispered.
A/N: I don't know how well I like this but oh well.
