"Ginny!" I heard Harry call from the den. His familiar footsteps came shuffling down the hall. He knew where I was. It was just a matter of getting there. We own quite a large house, and many times we forget which room is which. That's where our soul bond proves useful, though.
"What is that you're reading?" her asked, walking over to our desk and wrapping his strong arms around me.
I turned my head to look at him. "It's some letter that we got. It's weird. I think they want me to compete in some tournament."
Harry knew that I was not talking about quidditch. He took the letter from me and read it:
Mrs. Ginevra M. Potter,
You are formally invited to participate in the first ever Sobre Games. This is an event hosted by the Magicis Corporation, an international association for all magical beings and creatures. The games will feature five of the world's most powerful presences, chosen by a board of directors. They are specially trained to sense this great power. We are pleased to inform you that you have been chosen as the competitor for the Wizard category.
Attached is an information pamphlet, forms of consent, and five free tickets to the Games, if you should chose to compete.
Thank you for your time and consideration. We hope to see you competing in this year's Sobre Games.
Sincerely,
Roger Clearwater
Representative of the Magicis Corporation
"Wow," Harry stated. "It sounds similar to the - "
"Triwizard Tournament," we both said.
I looked at him with concern. Then I smiled. "You want me to go."
"Nah, I just - "
"Say it, say it," I said, poking his stomach. I giggled, trying to get him to say what I knew he was thinking.
He sighed. "I just want to see you win."
I smiled even wider. "I knew it," I said, straddling his lap. He kissed my forehead. "Well, who are we going to give the free tickets to?"
"I dunno. Why did they even send us free tickets?"
"Yeah, we don't need 'em. We can just pay for everyone to go."
"'Kay. Well everyone but Gwen. If she knew I were competing in the off season, she'd - "
"Bludger your head."
"Yeah."
"Let's look at the information pamphlet."
"But I don't feel like reading," I whined.
"Oh, what does it matter, you can hear what I'm thinking anyway."
I hmmed and focused my mind on what he was looking at. Skimming the pages, my eyes caught each of the five magical categories. One in particular sparked my interest.
"Are there really going to be demigods there?" I asked, as if he'd know the answer.
"I dunno," he said lazily. "But if there are, I highly doubt one will be an American named Percy Jackson." He smiled.
"Don't make fun of my imaginative thoughts!" I scoffed. "I bet you Annabeth is saying the same things to Percy about you this very minute," I joked.
"Hmph. Well, we better go get changed. We're having another sophisticated dinner with another high class family," he said, mocking every sophisticated person we had ever met.
"Hey, that's the price you pay," I said, getting up, "for being the Chosen One who is married to a professional quidditch player."
"Well, I think you're the chosen one now, love."
He and I walked to our closet, arm in arm, talking about changing his name to 'lazy one.' Maybe this competition would be a good thing for us. We had become much to accustomed to quiet living. Well, living that was quieter.
