"Which dress would I look good in?"

Amy Byrne was shopping at the mall with her boyfriend, Nolan. Nolan was bored out of his mind, just staring at his phone, looking at the time. 1:25. They were only there for 20 minutes, but it felt like 2 hours. Nolan would've rather been hanging out at the back of the Target with his friends. Something better than shopping at Macy's.

"Nolan?"

"Yeah?" He says, snapped out of his own little world.

"Which dress would I look good in?" Amy says, holding up 2 dresses.

"The one on the left." He replies, still bored.

"I don't know, I think this one would look better." Amy says, looking in the mirror, holding the other dress up to her torso.

She was picking a dress for the homecoming prom. Amy and Nolan were both 15 and were friends since first grade. It wasn't until the end of 8th grade that fate caught up to them.

"Just pick whatever one you want."

"I don't know. I'll go try them on." Amy says, stepping back into the dressing booth.

"And I picked this over a Saw movie marathon" Nolan says in his mind.

Later, Amy and Nolan are walking back to their apartment building. They both lived at Eldridge Heights, an apartment complex in Eldridge City.

"So, are you excited for homecoming?" Amy asks, trying to start a conversation.

"Oh, yeah." Nolan replies back. "Hey, can I talk to you about something?"

"What is it?"

"Don't you think going to mall every other week is getting a little…repetitive?"

"Why? We get to go to the stores you like going to." Amy replies.

"I know. But, we should be doing more fun stuff. You know, spice up our relationship a little." He says.

"What about that Tegan and Sara concert we did a few months ago?"

"Like that." Nolan says. "That was fun."

"Well, what else would you wanna do?" Amy asks. "There's not really much to do here."

"That's the thing. We need to find more fun things to do around here." Nolan tells her. "Actually, there's this little river I found at this park. You wanna check it out?"

"Ok, sounds fun."

Later, Nolan and Amy are walking in a park. They go further into the woods. There is a river beside the park.

"So, this is where you found it?" Amy asks.

"Yeah. Pretty sweet, huh?"

"Yeah." Amy replies. "You wanna go walk in the river?"

"Ok" Nolan agrees.

Amy and Nolan take their flip flops off and get in the river. Amy starts balancing in the rocks. She moves from rock to rock. But she notices a weird looking rock in the river. She moves closer to it and gets a better look. It's not a rock. It's a mask. Amy picks it up. The mask is made out of wood and painted green. It has bronze nose piece between two eye holes.

"Nolan" She calls out. "Come check this out."

Nolan walks over to Amy. He notices the mask.

"Where did you find this?" He asks.

"It was here in the river."

"Well, shouldn't we find whoever lost it and give it back?" Nolan asks.

"We could take it to my place and make one of those "Found" signs and post them all around her and my apartment building."

"Good idea." Nolan replies.

Nolan and Amy put their flip flops back on and begin to walk back to the apartment building.
