David lay on the floor badly mangled and bloody from the shot he had taken in an attempt to end his own life.
Dante's lifeless body lay on the floor decapitated; Rose held the tyrant anthro ram's head by its curled horn blood covered her extremely bloody hands, in the other hand she held the extremely bloodied vorpal blade which was used to cut Dante's head off. She had cut it off in a fit of rage after he had threatened to kill her mother and brother in exchanged for her love; he had David in his clutches, and he had somehow smuggled the shotgun from Dante's Minotaur hand.
Rose stood over her brother's body, tears mixing with the blood on her face causing it to run down her neck; she dropped the knife and the now-dead- tyrant's head.
She sobbed heart brokenly as she gently lifted her younger brother off the ground, her tears fell on his bloody face; Rose brushed a strand of David's dark hair out of his face with a bloody hand only touching the hair.
The Queen of Heart's Throne room or what it once was called "Dante's Throne Room" was deadly silent just like a catacomb; apart from Rose's loud crying. She then pulled David's bloody mangled body close to her; cuddling him like you would a baby, his chin rested on her shoulder.
Rose then began to rock him back and forth gently crying onto his shoulder, loud clicking was heard all of a sudden; Rose didn't bother to turn around.
Alice appeared, panting wildly after running almost three miles to get to the Queensland; "Oh my god!" she cried out a look of horror in her emerald eyes, her hands went to touch her lips.
Blood covered some parts of the red and white tiled floor, blood was spattered on the stained glass mirrors; Alice looked ahead of her to see Dante's bloody decapitated skinny Minotaur body lying on the ground in front of his throne; she felt like she had just walked into a murder, and she was right.
Then her eyes fell on her son and daughter; Alice wasted no time; she raced over to them tears already starting to fall, she knelt down and touched her son's bloody shoulder.
David didn't even shudder from her touch.
"Mom…" Rose said in a voice barely above a whisper. "He killed himself to protect you and me."
She let go of her brother; Alice leaned forward her index finger extended, her mouth hung a gap; tears falling.
"My baby…" Alice said in a broken whisper, ignoring her daughter. She outstretched both her arms and touched David's cheek, suddenly his mischievous eyes she loved opened slowly.
"Mum?" He asked barely above a whisper.
Rose gasped with disbelief, she was sure he was already dead.
"Yes baby…" Alice smiled nervously, "it's me…I'm here…Mommy is here." She said, attempting to comfort her son, harkening back to a time when he was just a baby and he would cry.
"He was…Attempting to kill you and Rose." David replied softly.
At that moment Rose turned her head closing her eyes as another tear escaped.
"I know my baby…I know." Alice replied gently. "She killed the threat, he won't hurt us anymore."
David raised an arm in the air, indicating he wanted his mother to take his bloodied hand. Alice took a firm hold of it smiling to try and soothe her wounded child, more tears followed.
"I'm sorry mum…" David whispered softly, a tear ran down his cheek.
Alice gasped, "Don't talk like that. You didn't do anything."
David's eyes began to flutter, signaling he was beginning to fade away.
"No no!" Alice screamed patting his cheek repeatedly. "Don't close your eyes, stay with me…Please."
He slowly nodded no, "Grandma and grandpa are calling me mommy. I don't want to keep them waiting."
"No David!" Alice screamed horrifically.
Rose hovered at a respectable distance above her mother's shoulder.
"Mum…I see a tall young woman with black hair; it's curly at the ends. Is that Aunt Lizzie?"
Alice's jaw dropped, "Yes…That's your Aunt Lizzie." She replied fresh tears running down her face.
This caused Rose to raise an eyebrow, "We have an Aunt?"
Her mother looked at her slowly, "Yes, she was killed."
Rose's face turned as white a pearl.
David felt all of his wounds and sores flow off his body like water, it was the smoothest thing he had ever felt, he felt extremely cold.
"Mom, I'm cold…" he muttered softly.
Alice undid her dress apron as fast as her fingers would allow it; she laid her apron across her son in an attempt to warm him.
"Here, this should keep you warm."
David smiled slightly, "Well, at least Wonderland is safe again. Now I can rest in peace." He then began to slowly close his eyes.
"David! No!" Alice screamed in alarm as she began to patting his cheek continuously, in an attempt to keep him awake.
His hand went limp in her hand, sending a red flag of warning.
"David!" Alice screamed still patting his cheek.
"Mum! His hand went limp in my hand" Rose announced.
"Yes I know I'm holding his other hand." Alice replied not turning away.
"I love you both, never forget that…" David whispered softly.
Alice wailed at this, "Please…Please don't leave me….Please" she pulled his close to her chest like she used to do when he was an infant; "You can't leave me…"
Despite her heartbreaking pleas, David's body went entirely limp in her lap; he was gone.
Rose was first to wail, her head rose to the ceiling tears rolling down her face.
Alice pulled his lifeless body into her lap, resting his head under her chin rocking him back and forth; she closed her eyes as more fresh tears streamed down her face.
She ran her hands gently through her dead son's dark brown hair, mourning her loose.
Rose suddenly stood up, picked up Dante's demonic minotaur head by his curly horn and stormed out of the throne room, Alice didn't bother looking up; she continued to cuddle her dead son's body.
Outside the Red Queen's palace, Rose picked up a steak and slammed it into the ground and then stuck Dante's head onto the steak, a signal to all Wonderlanders the evil tyrant was dead.
She suddenly collapsed, falling to her knees in front of Dante's head; his expression was in a twisted evil smile that would send chills down any brave man's spine, however; it didn't bother Rose, she had better issues to worry about.
The vorpal blade had returned to her hand, she clutched it; using it as a comfort object.
A series of footsteps could hear behind the grieving girl, she turned around to see Deene; the Mad Hatter's daughter and clockwork robots rushing into the palace.
"Keep going; don't stop till you get to the throne room." Deene commanded the clockwork robots firmly.
"What?" Rose gasped loudly. "Deene! How did you escape?" Rose nearly whispered walking weakly over to her.
Deene caught her by both her arms, "He's not my master, I can go where I pleas." She noticed Rose's face was red, and that she was crying. "Oh my god...Are you alright?"
"No…Its David…He's…Dead" Rose replied in a broken whisper. "My grandma, grandpa and aunt called him to heaven."
"Oh Rose, I'm so sorry…I know how you feel I've lost a mother." Deene replied.
"She was never lost...She was murdered…By your father." Rose said slowly.
Deene face turned as white as a sheet. "Dear god…"
"Mistress" a robotic voice asked from behind them. "I'm sorry to interrupt but we're ready."
"Very well…" Deene replied, trying to shake off the shock. "Let's get to it before it gets dark, it's already dawn."
Rose followed Deene back into the palace; they reached the throne room, Alice was still holding her son's lifeless body when she noticed the robots; she looked up with a confused look.
The robots knelt down and gently took David's body away from Alice, "Wait, what are you doing?"
A robot took David's body gently into his arms, his legs, arms and head hung limply over his arms.
The robot carries David's body out of the palace, so he can be buried.
