"He's very sturdy, isn't he?" Charlie asked. I was sat on the couch with Charlie. Edward was sitting on the arm rest, next to me.
"He had your hair, Edward" Charlie chuckled, as I tried to smooth down Masen's wild hair.
Charlie was also looking looking at Edward's eyes and Masen's eyes. I knew he noticed the difference between Edward's topaz eyes and Masen's emerald green eyes but didn't say anything.
"He's also quiet like you were, Bells"
"He's not all of the time" I muttered, making Edward chuckle.
A few hours later, Charlie decided to go home for dinner. Esme invited him to stay here but I think he felt a little strange with everyone in the house.
"Well, wasn't that fun?" Emmett commented, as Edward and I walked into the living room.
"Very" I muttered, sarcastically.
"Where's Alice?" Edward asked, searching the room.
"Don't know. She just left with Jasper. They probably went to hunt"
I shrugged it off. The Cullen's left several times a day. Some times they wouldn't come back for hours because of hunting and personal time.
"Would you like me to play your lullaby?" Edward asked, nodding in the direction of the piano.
"Yes, please"
I sat Masen on my lap so we could both watch Edward play my lullaby. After a few minutes the tune changed. Almost sweeter.
"Is that...?" I trailed off.
"A lullaby for Masen"
I leaned my head against Edward's shoulder, listening to him playing the lullaby's. He even played Esme's song, who came and sat on the couch, making her smile.
He was just finishing off the final notes of my lullaby when his hands came crashing down on the piano, making Masen and I jump.
"Edward? What's the matter?" I asked.
He turned his head to me, a look of anger on his face. He was just about to answer when Alice barged into the room. Jasper was behind her.
"Carlisle?" Alice shouted. He was next to Alice in a few seconds.
"What's wrong?" He questioned.
"I had a vision"
"Of what?" I asked.
"The Volturi is going to come here. Aro wants to check upon his dear friend, Carlisle"
"So, what's the problem?" Emmett asked.
"You don't understand! If Aro comes here he going to know about Masen! He's going to think he's an immortal child!"
"Isn't there some way to get around it?" Edward asked.
"No! I had a vision of Aro coming here but shortly after that I had another vision of us going to Volterra. Either it's us going there or them coming here"
"What do you think, Carlisle?" Edward asked him. His arm went around my waist, pulling me closer to him.
"I think it would be best to go to Volterra. We don't want the possibility of The Volturi coming here to Forks. I think it would be best to also tell the wolves"
"Why the wolves? What do they have to do with anything?" Rose spoke up. You could hear the disgust in the tone of her voice. She wasn't a fan of the wolves.
"If the wolves get the scent of The Volturi, they might start a fight. With the temper of the wolves and Cauis's hatred of werewolves, it would not be a pretty sight"
"So, who's going to go?" Emmett asked.
"Bella, Masen and I will be going. I also think Carlisle should go because he knows Aro. That's it" Edward spoke up.
"You mean the rest of us aren't going? Damn it!" Emmett swore. I think he was more angry at the opportunity of missing a fight then actually going to Volterra.
"I think the less of us will be better. All Aro wants is vampires with powers. I know that he will at least try to get Alice and Jasper to join him" Carlisle murmured.
"What about our extended family in Denali?" Rose suggested.
"No. There's no need to get Tanya and her family involved. Less people the better"
"What about Charlie? What about when he comes round here to look for Bella and Masen and they are not here?" Esme asked.
"Tell Charlie that we are going on a trip for a few days. Make it seem like we are going on a holiday" I suggested.
"So, now that we have things planned out I guess we'll have to set up a meeting with the wolves" Carlisle murmured.
