This is right after strip 446, when Becky talks to Jason about breaking up with Jay.
Becky stood up, wiping the tears from her eyes. "Come on. Let's go out there. I wanna get this off my mind."
"Uh… sure?" Jason reluctantly got up. "I mean, are you sure you're ready to face the others right now?"
"I'm okay!" Her hand reaches the doorknob. "Deep breath. Brave face." She opened the door and stepped into the room, where Sunny sees her crying.
"Did Jay break up with you on Valentine's Day? That's like, the worst thing you could possibly do to somebody!" Sunny said, leaning over the back of the couch.
"I'm not okay." Becky started to cry, and headed back into the room, with Jason following her. "Ugh…" Becky groaned, letting her head fall into her hands. "Was it this bad when you broke up with Devi? Did you feel so horrible?"
Jason sat down next to her. "Er… I was in love with you…"
"Oh, yeah, don't get me started with that again. The only reason I even went back to Jay was because of you advancing on me that night… the exact same way you did with Devi…"
Jason looked down at his hands in shame. "Yeah…" he said awkwardly.
"I just thought; why am I in love with this jerk when I have this completely sweet guy who wants to be with me? I just kind of used him as a substitute for you…"
"Yeah…" Jason repeated. "Wait, you were actually in love with—"
"And before I could even think it through, I was at Flickhead Videos asking Jay to give me another chance. And then we were dating, and I always assumed I would eventually fall in love with him… but it just never happened. I should've just broken up with him after a couple of months when I realized that the feelings I had didn't grow… but I was so confused. I actually did decide on breaking up with him the night of the Oscars in '08, but then I saw you, and all these feelings came up again; regret, guilt, anger… And I was afraid that if I broke up with Jay, then you would try to put things on me again, and I was totally not ready for that. I was afraid of what we would be again. So I kept dating him, and just never thought about it enough to realize I should have broken up." Becky took a deep breath.
"Wait," Jason said in disbelief, "So you were in love with me when I tried to kiss you? And the only reason that you didn't kiss me back was because I did it in the worst way possible?"
"Yes… so?" Becky sat up, looking Jason in the eyes.
Jason went over to the door and slammed his head against it. "I'm such an idiot!"
"Jason, calm down, it was two years ago," Becky reassured.
"No!" he exclaimed, turning to her. "I always just assumed you had just a crush on me, and that it wouldn't have really made a difference with that kiss or not. But know I know you really loved me… wait…" he muttered, turning away from the door. "If you never loved Jay, and you did love me… Becky, are you still in love with me?"
"What?" Becky retorted in disbelief. "Of course I don't—" Her jaw dropped in realization.
Jason's eyes widened. "You do." He sat down next to her on the bed. "That's why you never really liked Jay…" She nodded.
After a long silence, Jason turned toward Becky. "I guess there's something you should know too." Becky looked at him, hurt in her eyes "Becky… I still love you too." Jason leaned in to kiss her, and before she could think it through, she leaned in as well.
Wow… Becky thought. She could feel Jason's tongue edging at the bottom of her lips. She parted her lips, and soon they were lying down on the bed, making out. He reached for her dress zipper when Becky finally realized where this was going.
"Stop, Jason," Becky said, pulling away from him. "I should feel horrible right now, not moving on with some other guy."
Jason leaned up on an elbow. "Becky, you just got out of a three year relationship with a guy you didn't really even love. You deserve something you want right now."
Becky sighed. "I'm a terrible person."
"No, you're not. You're the most amazing person I've ever known. I know you made a mistake with Jay, the same way I made a mistake with Devi, and then with you, but you can't let it ruin you. You're just going to hurt yourself if you dwell on it too long. The best thing to do is move on."
"When did you get so deep?" Becky asked in disbelief. Jason shrugged, and leaned back in to kiss her again. This time when his hand reached her zipper, she didn't push away.
Becky laid down with Jason spooning her back, his arm over her. "Wow," she gasped, breathing heavily. She turned over to face him, and he smiled at her.
"That was great…" he sighed blissfully.
"I know," Becky said smiling. "You were amazing, Jas—" She looked into his eyes, noticing them bloodshot, realizing all of a sudden. "Jason…" she whispered gravely. "You're high, aren't you?" He started chuckling. "Oh my god!" she whispered through clenched teeth. She put on her clothes in a rush, tears streaming down her face. She opened the door to find Franklin sitting there alone.
"You guys owe me big time," his arms crossed over his chest.
Becky ignored him, rushing to the door when he crossed her path. "If I didn't figure out what was happening in there, the whole theater would have known you guys hooked up by now."
"What the hell are you talking about, Franklin?" Becky retorted impatiently, wanting to get out of there.
"I heard part of what you guys said after Jason slammed his head against the door." Franklin didn't move from his place. "I realized he was probably going to hit on you again, so I got everyone out of here as fast as I could." She suddenly remembered the party and everyone there.
Realizing what Franklin had said, she responded, "Thanks Franklin. Please don't tell anyone, not even Kurt."
"Well, Kurt's obviously going to find out from Jason."
"He's high as an astronaut, Franklin. He won't remember anything. Hell, Jason'll think it's all just a dream." She grabbed her jacket and headed out the door, new tears arriving at the mention of Jason's name. She headed to her car, ready to go back to her apartment to tell Melissa everything.
I know it was very short. It was meant to be a one-shot, but I'll add a few more chapters later on with the follow up to this.
