Just a nightmare
A.N.: Okay, so after I saw the reviews (thank you for them, they made me warm and fuzzy inside) I decided to make it a TWO-shot. Yay! Of course, I didn't expect it, so I was kinda in a Writer's Block, wondering: ''What the hell should I write after that?'' but inspiration hit, so here I am! Anyway, I'm going to answer some of your reviews:
C. R. Meadows: Actually, I have a full notebook of little stories up my spine, but I didn't post them because I thought that they were either too boring, or they didn't have enough details etc. And thank you for the compliments! AND for the cookies! They were delicious!
yazzii: Thank you very much! And I'm a girl :P. ^^
LTspade: To hear that from you is like earning the golden medal. Thank you! I'm glad you liked it (who am I kidding, I'm squealing here and giggling like a maniac!). And also, thank you for the kind welcoming. Glad to be here, too!
As for the others who reviewed, I give them each 3 almond cookies! You made my day! :D
Disclaimer: I don't own KFP.
And now, on with the story!
What Tigress didn't know was that Po hated horror stuff. And her nightmare was just it. He had come to her and comforted her, yet after hearing the story he was scared to death. Rolling from one side of the bed to the other, he couldn't help but play the images in his head.
He imagined Monkey being killed, and then Mantis, Crane, Viper...Just like Tigress had described. Putting his head into his paws, he tried to get rid of the pictures. He just couldn't.
''Come on, you scared panda...It was just a nightmare she had...You comforted her...That's it.'' Po muttered under his breath. ''Stupid imagination. Stupid fear. I wish I was as hardcore as Tigress. Then I could send them away and go to sleep.'' the same time he thought that, Shen appeared in front of his eyes with a bloody dagger.
That was the end of it. In a nanosecond he was on his feet and lighting the candle. He could see no Shen and no bloody dagger into the dim light. He groaned, a groan half frustrated and half whiny. Po didn't realise that it was too loud.
''Po?'' a striped feline called, opening the door. ''Is something wrong?'' the moment she asked that, they both had a feeling of deja vu. Ignoring it, Tigress walked in and sat with her hands on her hips. ''Well?''
Po gulped. He knew that if he told her what was wrong, she would feel guilty about it and build another set of walls to protect her from him. Po most surely didn't want that.
''Nope. Why would something be wrong? Does it look like something's wrong?'' he tried, but both of them knew that he wasn't a good liar. Tigress especially. ''You looked fine last time I remember.'' she pressed. Well, one hand washes the other.
Po said nothing, and then it clicked. Tigress' eyes softened and she slumped on the side of the bed. ''It's...it's my nightmare, isn't it? It frightened you.'' she stated. Po started fidgeting for the second time that night, sitting next to her.
''Well...It's no big deal...I mean...just a bit.'' he tried. Tigress shook her head. ''I shouldn't have told you about it. I just...forgot.'' she said.
Po was confused. ''You forgot...what?'' he asked the frowning tiger. He thought that she was not going to answer, but she lifted her head and looked into his eyes.
''When I was younger, I always had nightmares. Most of them were about beeing abandoned again, but others were completely different. They were about death, suffering, suicide of people I didn't know but I was forced to watch nevertheless. I had a few friends in the Valley. When I had a nightmare like that, I decided to tell them about it, thinking that they would comfort me. They did the exact opposite. They were so scared that they thought I was going to become sadistic and such, and they did not stop throwing words like that until Shifu had a talk with their parents. Then I understood that my nightmares aren't normal. They scare everyone. And I forgot that when I told you about the one from earlier. I'm sorry.'' she finished, and if Po didn't know any better, he'd think that she was on the verge of tears.
His heart melted anyway. He felt even WORSE for being such a scared wimp. ''No, Tigress, look: I've always been like this. Scared of horror stuff. But it's not your fault. I pressed you to tell me, and I did good. I'd do it again. If you hadn't came, I would have just slept with the light on. End of story.'' Po explained, hoping with all his heart to make the tiger feel better.
Tigress, on the other hand, was dumbstruck. He, although afraid of thing like horror, would listen to her nightmare again? Just so he could make her feel better? That time, tears really sprang at her eyes, but she held them back. They were tears of joy and she didn't want Po to think otherwise. She NEVER had a friend so true. Looking at him, Tigress realised that he was smiling that signature goofy smile, wich always made want to grin. She smiled back, and that time he hugged her. Tigress hugged him back and they stayed like that for a while, before pulling away, the smiles still on their faces.
Tigress decided that it was time for her to go to sleep, but on her way to the door, Po turned the light off and, her eyes not yet adjusted to the dark, she tripped on his action figures, yet not breaking any of them (thankfully).
''Po!'' she scolded, picking herself up from the floor while Po turned the light on. The panda laughed nervously at the playful glare Tigress sent him. ''Goodnight.'' she whispered, acting like the small incident never happened and opened the door. ''And Po?'' she called to the panda, who was climbing into his bed.
''First thing: tonight we sleep, and that means I don't come to your room and you don't come into mine.'' she mentioned, to wich Po nodded (there were enough touching moments between them for the night). ''And second: if you dare tell ANYONE about this, you are dead meat.'' she treathened, back to her old self.
''What? The nightmare or the fall?'' he asked, confused.
Nodding, Tigress quietly left the panda's room, after muttering another 'Goodnight'. They were both sleepy, since none of them had actually slept that night. Then, Tigress noticed light coming through the window. At the same moment, from the room and from the hallway was heard the same thing.
