Author Note: My second original Silent Hill fanfic. Hope you like it, may need to be tweeked.

Prologue: Dreams of the Town

It was always the same, her trapped in a room with that monster. The best way to describe it was pus covered walking monstrosity with no face. As a child she hadn't believed in boogeymen but if ever there was a thing that came close to fitting the description it was the thing standing in front of her at that very moment.

In desperation she pinched herself, hoping to somehow pull herself away from the dream but her efforts were futile. The thing probably sensed her distress and began making its way forward leaving a trail of yellow as it went.

"Stay away from me!" she screamed and to her surprise the thing stopped just a metre away from her. With no facial features to speak of she couldn't tell what it was thinking or whether it was amused by her plight or just an emotionless being that didn't know pain or joy. She settled for the latter as another thing made its way towards her.

This one was slightly different although it was still covered in bile and pus it had a mouth and inside she saw several sharp teeth that could easily rip through her flesh. Why did she have this nightmare over and over each time just slightly different from the last? Being a cop she'd seen a lot of weird shit but this took the biscuit.

The first monster greeted the newcomer with a snarl she'd come to loath as the other flashed his teeth menacingly. She didn't know what to do normally she'd have woken up by now but this was different, it was always different as if the dream had merely paused and rewound to the beginning this time showing her a little more.

There was a sign on the wall which read: EXIT but scrawled over that was a message. 'God will punish the wicked and sinful. Then Paradise will come.' Those words had about as much meaning as the word exit at that moment so she turned her attention back to the monsters. The second monster screeched at the first before plunging its teeth into the other's arm.

Green blood oozed from the wound and all she could do was scream at the sight and smell of it. As the first monster went down the second took the opportunity to rip off its arm completely spraying the infected blood everywhere. "No, stop it!" she screamed but the thing kept going, all she wanted to do at that moment was wake up.

Tears stung her eyes as she watched the monster finish off his victim, plunging its blood stained teeth into the flesh of the dead creature. "Stop it, just stop it!" she screamed unable to take it anymore. The monster ignored her pleas and grunted at her command before returning to its meal.

Just when she thought she'd go insane a voice inside her head told her to wake up. She focused on that voice in desperation and eventually the images disappeared and she was left in darkness.

Author Note:Wanted to come up with something that was both enjoyable to read and gruesome also. It's a rather brief and undetailed intro but that was intentional :)
